Emily dreamed about a butterfly.

She followed it through the garden, entranced by it. It was pure white, and the delicate patterns in the wings looked so perfect.

It landed on the ground, and when she reached out for it, a black shadow swept by, snatching it up.

When she looked up, she saw a massive crow holding the butterfly in its beak.

And then, it flew away, leaving her with a sinking feeling of dread.

When she woke up, she wasn't in her room, she realized, glancing around herself in confusion.

Instead, she was standing in the center of the hall of the throne room.

It was nighttime, yet the hall was lit up so bright that she had to shield her eyes to see.

Staring at her, seated in his throne was Adrien, the prince who would someday become king of Verilonia.

She blinked at him for several seconds.

"...E-eh...?"
