Aunt Gwen stood near their table, Trisha right behind her. It seemed they had just finished their lunch. Trisha shook hands with each man except for him. Dashiell crossed his arms, resting a finger under his nose as he observed her. She was quite the politician.
"Hello, Jer-Bear," Aunt Gwen said, pulling up a chair.
"How are you, beautiful?" Jer-Bear asked, giving her a wink.
"I'm just fine, thanks. And how are you?"
"Can't complain."
"Thanks for your help the other day, fellas. I really appreciate it," Trisha said, flashing one of her brilliant smiles.
The men straightened up, speaking at once.
"No problem at all."
"Glad to help."
"Anytime!"
What was with these guys? Acting like a bunch of hounds who'd caught a scent.
"Why don't you ladies join us?" Sean called out, hooking his thumbs under his suspenders while Jer-Bear pulled over two chairs, placing them next to Dashiell.
