"It was in a mess when you took over. Back then, I had even thought of suggesting that you give up if you can't handle it."
"Just some pesky flies here and there. Nothing to be worried about," Daisy sighed. Back then, she had no idea how she was going to handle things.
But at this point, she somehow did not want to put unnecessary stress on herself. Something about wanting to have everything under her control to feel assured had changed inside her.
She no longer felt like calculating every step, perfectioning every plan. Some things could be dealt with as they came. Some worries should be confronted when they surge. And simply this realization and feeling of not wanting to dwell on the past or future set Daisy's heart at ease.
Diana was startled when she saw that fleeting smile on Daisy's face. It disappeared in the blink of an eye, almost making it feel like an illusion but Diana was certain that she had seen it.
