The sunlight feels pleasant. I take a deep breath, filling my chest with fresh air, then stretch out my body.
As I forcefully exhale the air, it feels like stagnation accumulated within me disappears.
I stand there for a while longer, letting the sun's warmth gently seep into my body.
I've heard it's good for humans to bask in sunlight for at least fifteen minutes a day, and I feel that's exactly right.
"We did it, Engy."
"Yeah, I've had enough of dark places for a while. Right now I'm savoring the feeling of a cicada."
Phoenix and I were finally able to emerge from underground after over a week wandering the caves. I can't stop my face from breaking into a grin thinking about our life going forward, but first of all I want a meal.
I look around for something that looks edible.
"Phoenix, there's a huge caterpillar on that tree over there. How about it?"
Looking at the tree I pointed out, Phoenix makes a disgusted face.
