Moses only saw a darkness before his eyes.
In the next second, the scene in his field of vision changed instantly.
When Moses came to his senses, he found himself standing in a slightly familiar corridor.
There was a slightly pungent smell of dampness in the air. The walls on either side of the corridor were covered with tangled algae, emitting a faint green glow.
This was the place where he and Menchi had been teleported last time.
"It worked."
Returning to this corridor where luminous algae grow also means that Moses copied the Divine Script's Nen pathway, thereby activating the teleportation ability contained in the Divine Script.
Being able to analyze and copy successfully gave Moses an inexplicable sense of satisfaction.
It's like reaching the peak of a mountain after a grueling climb, and being rewarded with breathtaking views, giving him a feeling that it's 'worth it'.
However, the process of deciphering the Divine Script also made Moses realize that his level of Divine Script still has many shortcomings.
He planned to explore the ruins a bit, hoping to find more Divine Scripts or to study the simple inscription on the corridor's walls to gain further experience.
Once satisfied, he intended to return home and continue his dedicated training for another year or two.
"Looks like it's a fixed-point teleportation."
Moses muttered, then turned around and looked at the sealed stone wall behind him.
There were several straight lines engraved on it, and with his current level of mastery of Divine Script, Moses could determine that these Divine Scripts are coordinates for the fixed-point teleportation.
Moses just glanced at it a few times, memorized the pattern of the Divine Scripts, and then headed towards the tunnel's entrance.
By passing through this corridor, he would reach the central area of the ruins.
He still vividly remembered how they had been abruptly teleported away last time.
'With our sudden departure, perhaps those head-holding human statues and living armors controlled by the Post-Mortem Nen are still wandering around the ruins?'
Moses moved swiftly through the winding corridor and soon reached the exit. What came into his sight was a scene that had not changed at all.
In the massive underground space, there are hundreds of holes on the walls on all sides, which look like hanging coffins.
Countless luminous algae are spread all over the rock walls as far as his eyes can see, casting a faint green light that permeated every corner of the cave.
Looking down, Moses could see the remains of an ancient underground city standing quietly in the eerie green glow.
In the center of the ruins, there is still a giant spiral pillar, like a thick tree root entwined together, extending all the way to the ceiling of the cave.
Twisted limbs and grotesque faces were etched onto the surface of the pillar, with faint traces of black Nen permeating on every part of it.
Moses looked at the deadly silent scene in front of him with a calm expression.
After standing for a moment, he leaped down from the tunnel entrance and made his way toward the ruins.
Although he was now familiar with the layout of the ruins, Moses remained highly vigilant.
The head-holding human statues and living armors controlled by the Post-Mortem Nen are certainly not threatening at all, but the strange giant pillar standing at the center of the ruins is the home of a strong Post-Mortem Nen that commanded respect.
Reaching the outskirts of the ruins, Moses didn't rush to venture further in. Instead, he began exploring the buildings on the edge.
Compared to the valuable treasures deep within the ruins, Moses was more interested in the potential existence of unknown Divine Scripts at the moment.
Once his thirst for deciphering Divine Scripts was satisfied, he would naturally turn his attention to the treasures.
After all, he had plenty of time, so there was no need to rush.
With that mindset, Moses continued exploring the ancient buildings.
Maybe because he was still close to the outer area of the ruins, he had yet to encounter the head-holding human statues and living armors coming to cause trouble for him.
'The last time we came here, how long did we stay here before we were forcibly teleported out?'
This thought suddenly crossed Moses's mind, causing him to pause.
'And this time, since I activated the Divine Script on the stone tablet with my own Nen, it seems like the teleportation only affected me... Hmm, what I should be more concerned about is not how long it will take for me to be forcibly teleported out, but whether I can be teleported out.'
Thinking about this possibility, Moses feels a little uneasy.
'Oh well…'
'Let's just take one step at a time and see how it goes.'
Moses calmed his mind and resumed exploring the surrounding structures.
Several hours passed and Moses was not teleported out.
This wasn't exactly a good sign.
However, with Rat Jewel by his side, Moses wasn't too worried.
During these few hours, he had made a complete circuit around the outskirts of the ruins, but he hadn't made any significant discoveries.
But it doesn't matter, as his plan from the start was to conduct a thorough, methodical search of the ruins.
If nothing was found by the end, he would simply have to accept it.
As he stepped out of one of the ancient buildings, Moses prepared to venture deeper into the ruins.
Just as he took a step forward, a sudden wave of Nen rippled from a distance behind him.
"Hmm?"
Moses was slightly startled and quickly retracted his foot, then leaned against the doorframe, turning his attention to where the Nen fluctuations were coming from.
He saw cocoon-shaped spheres of Nen appearing out of thin air on the open ground outside the ruins.
"That is…?"
This unexpected turn of events caused Moses's eyes to widen in surprise.
The spheres of Nen that appeared out of thin air slowly faded away, revealing a group of figures.
A quick count showed there were nearly a hundred people.
What was strange, however, was that most of these people appeared to be ordinary individuals with no knowledge of Nen.
Seeing this, Moses frowned slightly, closed his Aura Nodes and retracted his Nen.
"Where is this place? How did I get here...?!"
One of the people in the group suddenly realized what was happening and cried out in alarm.
The others, seemingly as confused by their abrupt teleportation, also began shouting in confusion.
The cacophony of voices pierced through the eerie silence of the ruins, and along with the noise came a palpable wave of panic.
Among the crowd, however, one figure stood out. He's a pale, chubby man with black hair, wearing a white shirt. He remained unnervingly calm, completely out of sync with the fear and chaos around him.
However, despite his outward composure, a look of astonishment flickered in his dark eyes, revealing that his thoughts were far from serene.
This fat guy, who seemed as out of place as a crane among chickens, was none other than Milluki Zoldyck.
'What's going on...'
Milluki glanced at the surrounding environment in a daze.
'If I remember correctly, a second ago, I was still struggling over whether or not to take out a loan to buy a Sonic's out-of-print collector's game cartridge.'
'And in the blink of an eye, I had suddenly ended up in this bizarre place?!'
'Moreover…'
'It's so noisy!'
The incessant chatter grated on Milluki's nerves, and he furrowed his brows in frustration.
Neither he nor anyone else in the crowd noticed the humanoid figure with bat wings on its back hanging upside down on the ceiling above the cave.
But Moses, who was hiding behind the doorframe, was the first to notice the existence of this humanoid creature.
Its naked body is pale and no different from that of a human. Behind it stands a pair of pure black bat wings that can cover most of its body. There is no hair on its body, and there is only one obsidian-like eye on its smooth face.
Moses instantly recognized the creature.
It was the same mysterious entity that had awoken within the ruins during his last visit.
At that time, the unidentified creature had dug out one of its eyes and gave it to Moses as thanks for opening the ruins' gate.
'Did it bring these people here?'
Moses speculated.
'Judging from the current situation, this group of people who appeared out of nowhere are most likely related to this unidentified creature.'
'But-'
'What is the purpose?'
