The golden light was soon coming to an end. I was glad at what we achieved today, especially since me and Liam only just met.
He was gentle, but even after awhile he got accustomed to the world around him and also me.
"We defeated the level 3, Strifer and the level 2, Igris."
The Winter strifer was a silver and teal bird that had small wings that were delicate. It was fairly rapid but we were able to avoid its airborne attacks which cast cold sparks that dealt a bit of damage.
It only took nearly six minutes to defeat it.
"What now?," Liam asked politely.
"We move forward in the dungeon."
We were only through the first two gates and it seemed like a struggle for both of us, but i was optimistic about where were heading.
"My arm hurts is it okay that I can sit this one out?"
I turned around swiftly to see what Liam was complaining about.
His arm was bruised heavily. As soon as he lifted his sleeve it turned into a purple mess. I tried to brush it off so that we could continue but he truly seemed unwell. I didnt allow this to get in the way though.
"Does your arm feel like falling off?"
"No...?"
"Then lets get up and stop whining."
He eventually got up and rolled his sleeve down picking up the sword from the ground.
---
We stopped at the next gate to prepare ourselves as to what could come next.
"You ready?"
"Yeah hold on."
'What could it be this time?'
"Just a stinging sensation...eughhh.." He jittered through his clothes as if a worm crawled on the surface of his skin.
I couldn't quite understand what was going on but I turned away and stared at the gate in front of me.
Liam then stopped and loosened himself up ready to fight.
The bright purple circle that glowed in front of the door indicated that all the enemies in the last room were all eliminated and allowed us to enter.
We thought we were smart in the first day of entering Elyisum that we could dodge all the strifers but no, we took a great deal of damage and had to recover for the next five days at the start.
"Okay lets go," Liam requested.
"Alright."
The dark large door slowly opened as I placed my hand on the handle in the center.
We couldn't hold it in any longer as the door opened. We tried to peak inside but it was very dark. Just like the last two we could not see what was inside the dungeon room before the doors were at least 75% open which added to the suspense to it all.
I huffed and puffed hoping it would notice my ever boredom and open up faster, but it clearly did not.
After a not so long wait it opened up. It was a large room this time which was interesting.
"Boss room?"
"No. It cant be a boss room so quickly right?"
We looked around and nothing so far showed up. It was just empty. Now what could they be planning here?
We spent some time searching for some sort of swift in the spacious room but there was nothing. All it was, was a room being illuminated by some bright blue and orange flames in the corners of the room. The design was interesting i must say but I really didn't care and i was desperate to go home.
"This is strange."
A green flame lit up in the very middle of the room. I was cautious of it and had an immediate thought of the boss showing up right there.
Liam was on the other side of the room, i gave him the que to run over here but he froze up and decided to have his sword pointed at the green flame. 'What is he doing now?'
He slowly tiptoed over to me which took some time.
"What are you-"
"Shhhhh...."
Liam was a strange person, he didn't have the same personality as me nor did he have the same life experiences before we ended up in this world. It was hard for me not to cringe at him at time whenever he did his odd quirks.
He was a passionate gamer before all of this so i have trust in him but something in the back of my mind is telling me if I don't keep an eye on him he could end up dying.
The flame started to become bigger and my interest had been raised.
A grand opening for such a foe was something that I didn't expect so early but truly I never expected anything when I entered this world.
The legs started to form. The bare bone into the tendons and nervous system, the torso took shape and onto the chest piece along with everything else.
It was mesmerising, but also quite terrifying. The skin wasn't quite the same as a human, it was all red skin and-
"Argghhh!"
Before I could finish my thought processing, Liam decided to charge into the figure without any hesitation.
His sword was held high ready for a downward attack.
Right before the head took shape, his sword had intercepted the chest piece, creating a a bright blue vertical swoosh in the air as the movement of the sword followed through.
It had cut deep into the skin of the figure which had made it lose some blood.
The head now formed but he eyes were closed...
Liam hopped back to ready himself again for whatever be was about to do. I was still skeptical as to why he did what he did just now but it was shown that it was all for nothing...
The figure opened its eyes suddenly taking in whatever was it front of it into view. It stared at us for a moment following our every movement.
I stepped back and held my sword at a lower stance ready to take the lead of Liam to do a duel combo attack.
The health bar showed up, it was 500/500.
'The Elysium Guard'
"Huh? Aren't we already in Elysium?"
There must be something behind him is what I figured.
The figure created a spear out of thin air and spun it around with grace.
It was now in a stance that seemed defensive.
We looked for a while confused. A glance at Liam and he looked back.
We stepped a couple meters back to decide a game plan.
