Mark was not a man who panicked often. In fact, he was not a man who felt much of anything. If there was a job to do, he came in, did it, and left. No emotions involved. Which was why he was currently a bit unnerved by the fact that he was….anxious.
And not the type of thrilling anxiety that came with being the middle of a good fight(the brief exchange he'd had with Gio Romano had been quite thrilling). No, the anxiety that he was currently feeling held a note of fear that Mark did not like at all.
But he had every right to be afraid, even if he did not like it. They had nearly been caught. Had he set up cameras just at the church, Gio Romano's people would have snuck up on them without a problem and it would have all been over with.
But Mark had set up cameras along the road too. Carefully hidden but still functional. So when the Romano fleet had come into view, one of the low level lackeys had informed him immediately.
