Hearing, Gio had always had it…until he did not. Gio had taken a lot of hits in life and kept moving. But the more his new reality sank in, the more he realized just how big of a hit his hearing loss was.
From an early age Gio had honed his body into a weapon. Eyes sharp, able to track a target from a distance. His nose on point allowing him to smell blood no matter how much bleach was used to try and hide it. His tongue so good he knew from even having a dollop of something if there had been a new ingredient added. And amongst those senses had been his ears.
Gio used to be able to tell that he was being followed just by listening. He had been able to hear the near silent breathing of assassins lying in wait.
But all that was gone now, and to be honest, it was not just the new found vulnerability that bothered Gio.
