Right behind this wall was the exit to the maze. It felt so close yet so far. Even though as much as I wanted to have sped up moments ago to get out the maze, I knew deep inside, it was impossible.
I would have never reached the other side, I would have been plastered to the wall and probably died or had been grievously injured. I couldn't deny that.
Like I said before, impatience and recklessness will be the death of me in this trial.
I just had to wait another hour, just an hour. After that, I will be able to take a step out of this maze.
I sighed. An hour seemed like an eternity at this moment. Being conscious that just behind this wall was the way to finish this trial, made me really itchy. But I could not do anything about it and shook my thoughts out.
There's nothing I could do about it now.
________
When I opened my eyes, I was back to the familiar dark room.
It was just as I had saw, behind the wall was a place outside the maze. I took a step, and without a flash, I was out.
I had waited an hour that felt like eternity for it. It would have driven me nuts and a bit irrational, but I already learned better.
I was back at the room. Remembering the trial, I could really tell that the trial was specifically pointed towards one's goal, desires, and intent. It felt like I had learned a lot from the trial itself without earning a reward just yet.
The trial was definelty not as difficult or as comparably painful to the second trial, but it held a lot of stress and risk.
It leaned towards ones self-control. Without it, anyone would have died either not finding out about the exit via the shifting or by simply aimlessly looking for the exit in the maze.
The trial was very beneficial not gonna lie, it helped me sort things about about my intentions and goals, so that it might be a means of drive in the future and now, but not a means of mindless and foolish intent, a means of death. No, it was a drive and only a drive. It was only meant for me to move forward towards my goal, but not so much that I would get ahead and leave my feet behind.
The trial wasn't necessarily much more difficult than the other trials but served as much more challenging to overcome, even with magic and a great body.
After all, what was power and body without the mind?
"The 3rd trial rewards are being calculated, please wait."
I nodded and sat down.
------
"Dew of Tranquility. A drop of dew harvested from a mystic flower with the effects of heightening ones sensitivity and senses. Helps improve one's emotional-control and calms ones nerves when infront of dangers."
A drop of golden liquid appeared right before me, it was pretty small, as small as nail. I held it in my hands — well, not exactly, it floated above my palm.
What should I do now?
I guess I'll consume it. I shrugged, opened my mouth, and allowed the golden liquid to fall into my tongue.
When it did so, something drastic changed in my mind. My senses seemed to have reached its peak, it burst forth, I could smell the moss in the walls, I could feel the humid atmosphere, and even see the mana in the air.
The effect of the drop of liquid was astronomical. It was indeed as the monotonous voice described, if not, even a little bit over. My sensitivity to mana increased, I could basically see them now. My senses also rose to a great number, my sense of smell, my sense of touch, and even my sixth sense, etc. They all improved without a doubt.
I breathed in, my eyes were clear, and my mind was calm. I felt very cool-headed and reserved. It felt like nothing could cause my mind to falter anymore.
A smile couldn't be quite wiped off from my face. So far, the rewards I had gained from each trial was nothing short of amazing, even though their trial difficulty was also equally dangerous.
I looked forward to the fourth trial and what its rewards was.
I was close to getting out this forest, I could feel it.
"The fourth and last trial shall commence." The monotonous voice sounded.
I was well-rested and was back to my peak power. I was determined to complete this last trial and have access to the portal, then can I finally leave.
Light engulfed my eyes and swallowed my whole body, my figure was gone from the room a second later.
