Swiiishh.
Behind!
I was a bit too slow in my reaction and ended up being pinned on the ground, before I could do anything, I saw several rows of sharp canine fangs about to bite my head of.
I gnashed my teeth, before it could bite my head off, I leaned to the side dodging it by hairs breadth. It snapped its jaws at nothing but empty air.
Still, the force of that jaw strength was out the roof.
My mind reacted and so did my body, I curled my knees and lifted up the beasts body from below to over my head with all my strength, it was a success, I managed to get out of its grasp.
I quickly rolled my body and stood up, I went for a grab of my short sword that was thrown away from the initial attack of the beast.
When I managed to grab it, I feasted my eyes on the beasts form and was taken aback, infront of me was a four-legged beast with beautiful white fur accompanied by a pair of predatory red eyes.
It looked like a panther, but white!
It growled and readied itself to attack.
My heart thumped fast, the situation was really, really bad. Good thing was, the white panther was only a low stage tier-2 wild beast, the bad thing was, even though we are of the same level, it was faster than me by a considerable amount.
I won't win without using tricks that's for sure.
Anyway, should I start using my magic now?
I haven't used them the moment the beast lunged at me because, partially, I wasn't able to react enough, secondally, I wanted to evaluate the opponents power. Now that I think about it, it was stupid of me.
Maybe nothing would have change even if I used my spells before but maybe it could have.
A human and a beast glared at each other with intense eyes, not one willing to back down.
Well, thats wrong because I, for one, want to run, but I know that it would only result in my death. The moment I turn my back around is the moment my life is gone.
If you're not gonna move, then I'll oblige myself.
Thunder Clap!
The distance between us was crossed in no more than a few seconds, I appeared right before the eyes of the white panther with my short sword about to stab into its brains.
Unfortunately, all I hit was empty air as the panther disappeared leaving only startled wind.
I quickly looked to my side and saw the panther about to slash its mighty sharp claws at my ribs. I side-stepped in an attempt to dodge but I couldn't come out unscathed, blood dripped from my clothes, though it was only a shallow wound, nothing to get too worried about.
The panther started attacking me more viciously than before, slashing its claws at me as it lunged forward. I could barely dodge and could only defend with the short sword. I could easily get out of this situation with the Thunder Clap spell but what then? I would only be postponing the inevitable.
I needed to find a perfect chance to land a good hit back on the panther.
The attack became more intense, from left to right, from right to left, from front to back, from back to front. It kept attacking me, I started picking up wounds, mostly scratch marks, though shallow, if left untreated, could be dangerous.
It was even a good thing that this was all I got considering how fast and deadly the white panther was, it was mostly thanks to my sharp mind and fast reflexes that I came out with only these shallow wounds.
Each second passed, I stood my ground without escaping the situation using the Thunder Clap spell, I faced the attacks head-on and bit by bit, got accustomed to its pattern.
My senses and eyesight adapted to the speed of the beast and before long, I managed to attack back.
The white panther backed out, I could see its white paw dripping with blood, it's fur was tainted with red. It got angered and roared in fury, unfortunately for it, I was not having it.
I activated two thunder arrows and shot it forward to the panther. It charged towards me as if the thunder arrows didn't exist, it's speed became a bit slow because of the injury it received from my attack, but nothing too substantial it would affect its prowess, it was still fast.
It dodged the first arrows nimbly and so did the second, however the arrows came back faster from behind after making an arc.
It noticed it pretty quickly and halted its move and dodged them just as quick.
Though it was just a distraction, it only took a second for something to slither to the ground and climb up the white panthers front legs and coil around its neck before taking a bite.
