Chapter 78 - Seventy- seven. I can't hate him anymore.

Seventy- seven. I can't hate him anymore.

Monalissa gave a start. No wonder the room looked strange her. She was such an idiot to think that her master redecorated the room for her. She squeaked the doorknob again but it didn't open. Heaving an exasperated sigh, she sat down on the bed. There was nothing she could do. Nothing at all. Her master....must be very angry about her disappearance. He must be thinking that she had bolted. She looked around the room, her eyes scanning everywhere. Keen as her eyes were, she didn't fail to notice the camera that was installed at the ceiling, at the far end of the room. Her pretty eyes turned to slits. "How outrageous", she mouthed.

Following her instinct, she checked the bedside lamp and there was one there. She wasn't in the least surprised. All in all, she discovered seven cameras in total. Four in the room, one in the bathroom and two at the balcony.

"Ha...", she scoffed. "What a keen fellow". Monalissa wasn't scared at all. Or maybe she appeared not to be. This action of hers made Elijah more intrigued. He knew that Monalissa was a special girl. From the time she took that mission. While he was watching her on his laptop, his cellphone rang and that familiar name appeared on the caller ID. Elena. He picked it up. "Hey Elena", he called.

"Hi Eli", she slurred, her voice more sultry than ever. "I arrived already at Cee country", she said.

"Just now?", he asked, his brows furrowed. " That flight was too slow".

The woman on the other end of the line chuckled. "That's not true Eli. I arrived at half past five this morning. I was just trying to lay my foundation, a solid one at that. In no time, Miss Lakewoods will be on our side. The whole members of the Mint house will not be excluded", she explained.

Elijah nodded. "That's great work you're doing Elena. I'll give you that gift as promised", he said.

"Oh my gosh Eli, you're so sweet to me", she said. She almost threw up the moment she said that.

"I'll always be sweet to you. Don't forget the schedule. You've got it right?", he asked.

Camille looked at the list of things that Cobra had just sent her at the master minute. A smirk marred her lips and she replied. "Yes darling", she said. This sentence almost got her tongue into her throat. She couldn't wait to hang up.

"Elena", Elijah called.

"Yes Eli?", she answered.

"I finally got her", he said, happiness in his voice.

Camille was at a loss. She didn't know who Elijah was talking about. She didn't want to blow her cover, so she immediately thought of how Elena would react when she hears that her boss whom she loved had brought in another woman.

"Oh... Really? That's great", she said her voice laced with feigned jealousy.

Elijah was no fool because he read the tone of her voice immediately. "Elena, you and I know how much I love Monalissa. It's just us that know who she really is. Do the work fast and come back. I will be waiting for you", he said and hung up.

Camille felt all her hair stand on end the moment Monalissa's name was mentioned. What the hell was going on? Why does he have Monalissa?! Without hesitation, she whipped out her phone and sent a text.

Elijah heaved a deep sigh and stood from his seat. He lifted his strong legs and walked out this study. He walked to the room where Monalissa was kept. Taking a deep breath, he inserted the key to open the door.

The clinging of keys and the clutching of the door lock got Monalissa up. She sat at the edge of her bed and waited for her captor to reveal himself. The doorknob squeaked open, revealing the one who had kept her here. Elijah Woods.

Monalissa felt her tummy churn at the sight of him and she suddenly wanted to puke. What an irritating bastard! Her brows were tightly furrowed and she couldn't hide her disgust.

"You're awake?", Elijah asked, his deep voice echoing through the whole room into her ears.

Monalissa looked at him. "For how long? How long have you been planning this?", she asked ignoring his question. After Ezekiel had revealed him as Neon, she couldn't view him as a friend anymore. Even, viewing him as an enemy was even more friendly.

Elijah swallowed and walked closer, causing Monalissa to crouch backwards into her bed. "Don't come any closer!", she said in a raised voice. This halted Elijah in his steps and he did as he was told.

"Look here Mona, I know it's wrong for me to take you away and lock you up here. But that's the only way I could have you closer to me", Elijah said.

"Take me home", she said as though she didn't hear what Elijah had said.

"Home?", Elijah scoffed. "Mona, you and I both know that you don't have a home. You're homeless right now. At least, Don made sure of that", Elijah taunted.

Monalissa looked at him and smirked. "You're really brainless aren't you?", she asked.

"What do you mean by that Mona?", he asked.

"Nothing. I don't mean anything. It's just... there's nothing you would say right now that will make me hate him. I can't hate him no more. Every ounce of hatred I had for him is now directed at you. Didn't you realize? So, just stop wasting your time and take me home", she said.

Elijah was enraged. Angered by her words, he whipped out his phone and clicked some buttons on it. After he was done, he smiled. His anger seemed to have subsided a tad.

Monalissa wanted nothing more than to rip that dirty smile off that bastard's face. But, she didn't want to make the wrong moves. She was powerless at the moment and couldn't afford to risk anything.

"You might not hate him, but you can't say the same for him", Elijah said and waved his cellphone in front of her.

"I just sent him a package. I wonder how he would react once he opens it", he said with a wry smile.
