She prayed silently that Elijah won't notice a thing and successfully, he didn't notice till this point. She saw his lips stretch into a happy smile. He must be very happy. The duo walked through the doors of the hotel entrance and were escorted to the room which they had booked. Elijah's initial plan was to devise a plan with Arianna to help him get Monalissa and take her with him but seems the woman already had something up her sleeve and that sounded a lot feasible to him.
The escort left after giving a bow to them and went back to his position. Elijah inserted the key card and immediately a robotic voice sounded allowing them entrance into the room.
Arianna could feel the palpitations of her heart, and it was very aggressive. She clenched the handle of the Hermes bag tightly. What will be, will be, she said within herself.
Elijah closed the door and was surprised to see two couple seated on the couch, in the room they had booked. The girl was leaning on the man's shoulder and the man was stroking her hair, with a gaze filled with affection.
However, they looked quite familiar. He had seen them before. As if confirming his doubts, the man raised his head and his face was finally revealed. It was that man from Monalissa's ward. What was he doing here? And the girl? Monalissa?
He saw the man smirk and finally let out a dry chuckle which he himself found menacing. It chilled him to the bones. He recognized that kind of laughter. It was a taunting one. One that screamed disdain and authority. He hated it. This man!
"You look so shaken up man. Did I scare you Neon?",he heard the man ask.
Elijah paled. How did he...? How come? How did he blow his cover? Arianna on her own part felt her body turn cold the moment she heard that laughter. It was terrifying. Ezekiel wasn't going to show any mercy. Is that how far he could go for her? Unknown to her, she was still oblivious at the length the guy from the Don family was willing to go for this woman.
"What's that?", Elijah asked composing himself. "I'm not neon in complexion. You must be missing something".
Ezekiel scoffed. He turned to the sleeping Monalissa that was sitted beside him, sleeping on his shoulder. "Hey Walker, our business partners are here", he said almost in a whisper but loud enough for Monalissa to hear.
Monalissa stirred in her sleep and finally opened her eyes. Her eyes met first with the man standing at the other end of the room, with a woman standing by his side. That was...Elijah?
Quickly, she turned to Ezekiel, leaning forward, she whispered to him. "That's Elijah master. You've been tricked".
Ezekiel smirked at her being so cute at the moment. He understood her unbelief because she never thought that the man that was a friend to her was the enemy she wanted to kill.
"No. I got him right, and he knows", Ezekiel replied, loud enough for Elijah to hear. Monalissa went still. It was unbelievable.
Elijah clenched his fists and turned to look at Arianna who looked away. He saw the hand holding the Hermes bag jittering crazily. Angrily he walked to her side and grabbed her arm.
"What the hell is going on here Miss Fords? I swear I will kill you!"
Arianna gasped and immediately looked at Ezekiel who was looking at Monalissa's angry face, one which he found beautiful and cute. She boiled at a very high degree.
"Ezekiel!", she screamed his name.
Without taking his eyes off the woman beside him, he replied, "You need to calm down Neon. This place isn't for things like that".
Elijah looked at him. "You dared to come at me Don?"
"No. I didn't come at you. I heard you wanted to see Monalissa. Here she is".
Monalissa looked at Ezekiel who had a smirk on his face. Her heart turned cold at what was about to transpire or maybe what she thought was about to happen.
"How did you even get into the room I booked?", Elijah questioned.
"That's wrong question Neon. What you should ask is...how did I find out who you are".
Elijah scoffed. "You were going to find out sooner or later. Didn't expect you to find out this soon".
"You both dared to touch my person, who gave you two the right?", Ezekiel questioned, rage filling him up.
"No. That was a deal. She gets you, I get Monalissa back. Cool deal isn't it?", Elijah said taking a seat on the couch opposite them. Arianna joined him. He spared her a glance and turned back to Ezekiel.
"You cheater. How did you manage to trick her? What did you do?"
"Nothing. Absolutely nothing", Ezekiel replied. "Also, Arianna, hope you got the gift I sent you?"
Arianna cringed when she remembered the ghastly sight of the doctor's unconscious body lying in front of her mansion. She had him taken away before he implicates her family.
Elijah's eyes turned to slits. "Leave her here, and everything would be calm", he said.
"Not happening", Ezekiel countered. "And I will take revenge for planning a kidnap on her".
"You won't dare Ezekiel. I will put your network on the line"
"Childish threats", Ezekiel mocked.
Elijah ignored him and turned to Monalissa. "Lissa, why go with him? The man who cleared your whole family? I know that you might hate me for lying about my true identity, but, I had to. You wouldn't have talked to me if you had known".
"Even if you told me then, I wouldn't have known who you were. I thought Neon would be someone else. But it was you", Monalissa said.
"Monalissa see...", Elijah wanted to speak but was cut off.
"Forget it. I'm not going with you. I'll leave with my master".
"Even if he was the one who made you stay without a family? He crippled you too!", Elijah persuaded.
Monalissa scoffed. "You kept tabs. Good work", she said while clenching her fists to get those hurtful memories out of her mind. Her being crippled....
"Am so sorry about that. I had to".
"I don't care why you kept tabs, but am not going with you. And just so you know, I knew you were the one who sent that letter that wiped my clan".
Then she turned to her master. " Master, I need to leave".
"Sure. Let's go".
