Chapter 7 - Six: You don't have the right

Six:You don't have the right

Monalissa moved her body. If she wanted to survive this, she had to be strong and get herself moving. She joined the line of those doing the transporting. As she walked, her heart reminded her that this was her homeland. The place she knew as her home.

They transported the materials for almost an hour. Then, their leader announced their break. During this break, Monalissa stayed on her own. She didn't know anyone and she didn't even want to talk to anyone. While she sat there, she wondered if this was the punishment that Ezekiel had for her. If it were this, she would scoff at him. The only pain was that he reconstructed her home into his factory. She made a mental note to take a tour at night.

Just when she was making plans, someone came up to her. The person kicked her feet to the side disrupting her right sitting posture. She looked up to meet the face of a plump figure staring at her. There was a scowl on the girl's face and she looked at Monalissa as though she owed her.

"You're sitting on my spot".

"I wasn't informed", Monalissa replied calmly as she regained her former posture. The girl named Sarah scoffed. "You must be out of your mind to talk back to me"

Monalissa couldn't be bothered and ignored her. This action fueled Sarah and she grabbed Monalissa's hair dragging it forward.

"You bitch! This is not your place. When I say so, it remains so!" She pushed Monalissa down and the young girl fell and bruised her knees. She wasn't really prepared for that fall. This damned girl!

She stood and dusted her clothes. Sarah was looking at her in disdain. She received information about the new worker and came to see her. She was dumbstruck at her beauty. This made Sarah develop a sudden hatred towards the innocent Monalissa.

Monalissa walked towards her and looked at her. Just when the onlookers thought that Monalissa would apologize, a crisp sound of slap sounded in her ears.

Gasps!!

Everyone was shocked.

What the hell! She slapped her?

They pitied her because she has fallen into this witch's trap.

Sarah was the favored one out of all them. She was loved and doted on by the factory's manager. She used that to her advantage and kept bullying her way through. Even the group leaders couldn't talk to her. And then this newbie?

Another crisp slap came forward. Then another and another and another.

Sarah fell to her knees. Her mouth bled red. She saw crimson. Monalissa looked at her condescendingly with no expression on her clear face.

"Don't touch me. You don't have the right", Monalissa said. Her voice was filled with power even though it sounded hoarse.

" I'll make you suffer".

Monalissa eyed her and left the area. She went to another place to sit She didn't want to be bothered by her.

Soon, the break ended and everyone commenced their work. Monalissa was doing her best. She was neither trying to please anyone nor to make a name for herself. She needed to survive. She was planning on getting back at that devil who ruined her home. At the same time she also wondered who that person of his that she eliminated was.

Girlfriend? Wife? Boyfriend? Brother? Family?

She heaved a defeated sigh trying not to bother about it. She didn't even understand why he brought her here. Why he was doing all of this. He already got even with her but he still wanted to make her miserable?!

The voice in her head said, "That's what the devil does".

She didn't even know his real name. She just called him the devil because to her, he was that.

"Monalissa Walls!"

The sharp voice of their group leader brought her mind back to earth.

"Yes?"

"You're transporting thirty bags of cement"

Monalissa gave a start." Isn't that a little too much? Besides, that administrator told me that it was fifteen per person".

The group leader scoffed. " Then we would have to sleep here if everyone carried that amount ".

" Is it just me?"

The group leader was getting pissed at the questions she was asking. It was annoying.

"You newbie! You still have the cheek to make orders! I'm the one that calls the shots here. Just do as you're told ".

Monalissa clenched her fists in anger. She wondered why she had carry that much. Little did she know that a certain witch had made her do all that by herself.
