It's been a few days since I ran into Lilith, and decided to explore the map that still was grayed out. I realize that I haven't accomplished much and the reality about it all is that this game is sinister. Being called the chosen one and needing to bring Lilith to my side, it all seems weird.
The one thing I keep asking myself is who is the main creator and why make such a game? I shake the confusion from my head and continue my walk through the unexplored territory, a sense of unease settles within me. The further I went, the darker and more forebody the landscape became. I don't know why I chose this area, but it seems that Lilith could be anywhere in these unexplored areas.
I need to find her, I have so many questions. As I ventured deeper into the unexplored territory, the air grew thick with an eerie silence. The once vibrant landscape had transformed into a desolate wasteland, with twisted trees and crumbling ruins as far as the eye could see. It was as if the very essence of darkness had taken hold of this forsaken realm.
I would have brought Thanatos with me or even Persephone, but I couldn't risk their lives. Lilith seems to be powerful, even more powerful than Zeus. It's better to leave them back at the castle and let them talk to other players about this world.
As I continued through the wasteland, I kept repeating Lilith's words, "The Chosen One." What was the meaning of that? I needed answers, and I needed to understand the true nature of this game. It was digging into my skin not knowing anything.
The ruins around me echoed with whispers, carried by the chilling wind that swept through the barren landscape. It was as if the forgotten souls of those who had perished in this realm were begging to be heard. I couldn't help but wonder if they had fallen victim to Lilith's twisted games or if there was something more sinister at play.
As I navigated my way through the labyrinthine ruins, a flicker of movement caught my attention in the distance. My heart skipped a beat as I cautiously approached, unable to shake off the feeling that danger lurked behind every broken pillar and crumbling stone.
I was expecting Lilith to emerge from the shadows, but instead, a young man appeared before me. He looked barely out of high school with his messy hair and sleepy eyes. As he stepped into the light, I noticed he was holding a backpack and rubbing his eyes. A small smile formed on his lips as he saw me.
"Hey Hades," he said in a drowsy voice. "Took you long enough to find me." He let out a long yawn and stretched his arms above his head.
"I'm Hypnos," he added, introducing himself. My mind raced as I tried to make sense of this unexpected encounter. The god of sleep? What was he doing here, and why did he seem so relaxed about it all?
I gazed at Hypnos, my confusion deepening. "Hypnos, the god of sleep?" I asked incredulously, still struggling to make sense of his appearance. "What brings you here?"
Hypnos shrugged nonchalantly, barely opening his eyes. "Well, you see, I was supposed to seek you out. It was one of my quests. But I got sidetracked and ended up here. So I figured I might as well take a nap."
I blinked, unable to hide my surprise. "You got sidetracked and decided to take a nap?" I repeated, my voice a mix of disbelief and annoyance.
"Do you not understand the situation we are in? We are stuck in a game!"
Hypnos chuckled and scratched the back of his head. "Yeah, I guess I should've been more concerned about that," he admitted sheepishly.
"But hey, you can't blame a guy for being tired all the time, right?"
My head shakes in disbelief and I can feel a vein pulsing on my forehead.
How could someone like him even exist? I take a deep breath to calm myself. "I'm heading back to my castle now. You can come along, but no sleeping is allowed. If we come across any monsters or beasts, I won't be responsible for protecting you."
Hypnos yawned again and stretched his arms lazily. "Sure thing, Hades," he mumbled, seemingly unfazed by my irritation. "Lead the way and I'll do my best to stay awake."
With a sigh, I turned around and began retracing my steps back through the desolate wasteland. Hypnos followed closely behind me, his footsteps light and his eyes half-closed. As we walked, I couldn't shake off the feeling that we were being watched.
The silence of the ruins was unnerving, broken only by the sound of our footsteps echoing through the crumbling corridors. Shadows danced on the walls, their dark forms twisting and contorting as if alive. It was as if the very essence of this realm was conspiring against us.
Suddenly, a low growl echoed through the air, sending shivers down my spine. I instinctively gripped my bident tighter, readying myself for an attack. Hypnos blinked groggily and rubbed his eyes, finally fully awake.
He glanced around, a hint of concern crossing his features.
"What was that?" he mumbled, his voice filled with uncertainty. "Did you hear that?"
I nodded my senses on high alert. "We're not alone," I said quietly, my voice barely a whisper. "Stay close and stay alert."
As we cautiously made our way through the ruins, the growls grew louder, and more menacing. The shadows seemed to writhe with anticipation as if they were taunting us. I could feel the presence of something powerful lurking in the darkness.
Without warning, a pack of grotesque creatures emerged from the shadows, their claws and fangs glistening menacingly. They snarled and snapped at us, their eyes burning with an insatiable hunger.
A notification pops up in front of me. "You have entered the hidden dungeon. Defeat the Shadow Beast to receive divine rewards." I let out a groan, feeling exhausted and unable to truly relax in this game.
