"There's no way she just pushed me off this boat. I didn't even want anything to do with Evan anymore. So why am I now drowning in the middle of the ocean?"
Earlier that day Olivia was sitting poolside with her older sister, trying to forget the betrayal from her ex-boyfriend.
"Please try to at least look like you're having fun Olivia."
"Maya, how exactly am I supposed to have fun after Evan not only dumped me but cheated on me with another woman?" I asked.
"Nothing a little alcohol can't fix. Besides, I wasn't exactly fond of him and the way he treated you, so as far as I'm concerned you're better off."
Of course Maya would say that, she's never liked Evan. I mean he wasn't the perfect boyfriend and I never thought he'd be the guy I'd end up marrying and having kids with, but I still liked him and loved his sense of humor.
"I think I'm just going to head back to our room and take a nap." I let Maya know.
"Suit yourself, but if I were you, I'd already think about hooking up with the next good looking guy that stands in front of me." Maya jokes.
Hooking up? That wasn't for me, I couldn't just sleep with someone I just met. It took me months to finally be able to feel comfortable enough with Evan to sleep with him.
There I was doing it again. Thinking about Evan, I mean we were supposed to be going together on this 7 day cruise with each other. Ugh, It's only the second day and I already want to go home.
While I was thinking to myself I wasn't watching where I was going and tripped over someone's shoes. Great, the way I was making a fool of myself there's no way another guy would even look at me.
"Olivia?"
Oh God no, what is he doing here?
"Olivia, what are you doing here?"
It was Evan. What was I doing here, what was he doing here? I know we were both going on this cruise but that was before we broke up. I can't believe he still had the balls to come on the cruise. And that's when I saw her, coming up behind him.
"Evan! I thought you told that tramp that you didn't want anything to do with her anymore!"
I stared in shock as a short slender woman in a short blue halter dress with long black hair and a pointy nose with a high pitch voice, threw accusations at me.
"Linda, I had no idea she'd be here too. As if I'd want anything to do with this lowly girl who couldn't even please a man." Evan snorted.
Now I was really speechless.
"Excuse me? First of all I booked the trip first, so I don't even know why you're here, and second of all, maybe if you were more of a caring and honest man, I'd actually would have slept with you more often!" I screamed at Evan.
"You bitch!" Evan slapped me across the face in front of on looking passengers and Linda. Through my hair I could see Linda smirking.
"That's all the attention of woman like you deserves." Linda taunted as she got closer. Laughing Linda got really close to my reddening face and whispered, "I was always his, while you were nothing but trash." She laughed once more and then all of a sudden I felt her hands as she forcefully pushed me.
As I found myself falling back I also ended up tripping on the pair of shoes I had tripped on earlier, causing me to go over the rail of the boat.
It all happened so fast, and as I was falling down towards the water I could see my sister Maya shouting over the rail. I couldn't hear her though as all I could hear was the wind in my ears as I fell.
Splash!
The water was cold and quickly filling my nose and mouth, I was panicking and in shock. As I went further down I found myself resisting less and less as it got darker. Eventually I gave up, it's not like I had a lot to go back to anyway. I hated my office job, my parents were divorced and I had no contact with my mother for the last 2 years. All I had was Maya and I only saw her twice a year. And of course I didn't have a man who loved me romantically. So I gave up.
Just as I almost couldn't see anything anymore, I felt a hand grab me by the wrist and pull me up. Maybe Maya was able to get help in time, but as I went unconscious all I was able to see was a figure with snow white hair.
I felt rush of warmth.
