The joyful times always seem so fleeting. In the second week at Thorn Castle, on a day when the sky was clear, Elias, along with Luna and the entire Abraham family, waved goodbye.
"Luna, sister." Emily ran over, reluctant to part, and hugged Luna tightly. "You must remember to come back and visit me! Otherwise, it'll be so boring here!"
Emily had finally found a friend she could talk to, someone "about her age," but their time together was short-lived. Being a vampire, this might have been the first time she truly experienced the bitterness of farewell.
"Don't worry! I'll come to visit," Luna chuckled. "Besides, you can always come to The City of Saint Rose to see me! You know where I live, right?"
"Oh..." Emily glanced back quietly at her mother. "But mother doesn't allow me to go out just like that…"
"Silly!" Luna tapped her playfully, looking towards Isabella. "Have you forgotten who calls the shots in your family now?"
