Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: A Grim Ending

"Why do you look at me like that, bro?"

Luna's gaze was fixed on Elias, her eyes narrowing. "It's just like how they used to look at me..."

Though Elias remained silent, the look in his eyes was unmistakably piercing to her.

"A monster, right? You think I'm a monster too?"

Luna's laugh was chilling, her body beginning to shake violently.

"I knew it, I always knew... You never saw me as your sister, always as a monster! "

"To even get angry at me over such a woman!""

Her arms started to twist and contort, then exploded into numerous writhing tentacles, slimy and serpent-like, horrifying in appearance.

Elias was hit with a wave of intense mental shock, a maelstrom of distortion, fear, and palpitations that rendered him immobile.

[You are under a severe mental assault]

[Sanity check in progress...]

Elias clenched his fists, fighting against the corrupting force with all his might. He had prepared for this confrontation since returning to the old house.

[Sanity check successful]

[Sanity: Unaffected]

Perhaps due to his strong will to survive, Elias's luck held. Regaining control, he quickly reached for the glass bottle in his pocket.

Catching Luna off guard, she looked at him with surprise, which quickly turned into a cold laugh. Six menacing tentacles lunged towards Elias.

But Elias had already thrown the potion. The bottle shattered against Luna's face, scattering glass and releasing a pungent aroma that rapidly filled the air.

The tentacles halted mere centimeters from Elias, then retracted as if burned. Luna's body trembled more violently.

She clutched her face, letting out a monstrous howl that echoed throughout the mansion.

Elias breathed a sigh of relief, but he didn't forget to check Luna's current state. His trump card wasn't the magic potion or charm; it was his role as the head of "The Sanctuary" and, by extension, this house.

If the containment criteria were met in the data, he could successfully confine anything. No matter the entity, even the most terrifying, they could be confined within the guest room, unable to escape.

However...

It seems Elias was happy a bit too soon.

[Luna]

[Species: Hybrid (Human 95%; Creature - Sgugth 5%)]

[Affection: 100]

[Contamination: 65↓]

[Danger Level: Four Stars (High Risk!)]

[Description: A twisted being who harbors a love-hate relationship with you]

The specialized potion, meant for lower-level exotic species, barely affected Luna. Her contamination level remained above 50, and her madness escalated.

With a piercing shriek, Luna's tentacles lashed out wildly, causing incessant shattering sounds in the dining room. As the table split, Elias quickly grabbed a dining knife for defense, retreating steadily.

Glancing at the mansion Luna had turned into a prison, Elias realized he had only one option left: forced containment. Despite the slim odds, it was his only chance.

He swiftly accessed the interface and hit the 'Contain' option, regardless of Luna's current state.

[Containment in progress...]

The mansion rumbled softly. Luna, realizing Elias's intention, glared at him with bloodshot eyes filled with hatred.

"Never!" she screamed.

Two tentacles shot towards him like arrows, impaling his legs. Elias collapsed to the ground, his cries of agony filling the room.

[Containment check failed]

[Not contained]

Elias slumped, drained of even the energy to feel anger, silently watching Luna tower over him.

Her once angelic face was now stained with blood from the shattered glass, twisted into a sinister expression against the backdrop of menacing tentacles.

"So close..." Luna looked down at Elias, her voice a mix of amusement and malice. "You almost had me, my clever bro..."

The slimy tentacles crept over Elias's skin, lifting him to face Luna. The pain from his wounds was excruciating, causing him to groan in agony.

"So close to deceiving me... All your promises were lies."

Luna savored Elias's suffering. "You never wanted to stay with Luna. You see me as a monster..."

She laughed playfully. "You have it all, bro - looks, charm, lineage, and undaunted courage. But there's one thing you lack."

The grip of the tentacles tightened, the scent of blood growing more intense. Elias's vision blurred as he lost blood rapidly.

"Empathy, bro. You never had empathy for your own sister." Luna's voice was almost whimsical as she observed his weakening state, her twisted satisfaction evident in her smile.

"You're such a great deceiver, bro," Luna whispered, her voice a mix of sarcasm and affection as she moved closer to Elias, embracing him. "I bet every girl would fall for your lies."

"Even if it's all fake, Luna is happy... I've had such a fun day today."

"Let's stay like this... bro, from now on, I'll take care of you. We won't leave this house anymore. Luna will take good care of you... forever..."

Luna hadn't finished speaking.

Along with the sound of flesh being pierced.

Luna let out a muffled groan, releasing her grip on Elias's body.

Then, she looked down in disbelief.

The dinner knife had been plunged into her chest by Elias, positioned precisely at her heart.

"bro... you..."

Elias, close by, managed a mocking smile. "Just a character in a game, getting so sentimental? Even here, your life was saved by me!"

Rage erupted within him, uncontrollable and fierce.

All the tentacles flailed wildly, their sharpness intensified. Elias, impaled once more, fell to the ground, collapsing into a pool of his own blood.

As his vision blurred and life ebbed away, he saw Luna clutching her chest, a mix of sadness, guilt, and hatred on her face.

"Is this your answer, bro?" she laughed mockingly. "Right... a person like you was never meant for me. I'm a monster... I'm a monster... I'm a monster..."

Luna repeated the word 'monster' over and over, her expression fluctuating between self-loathing and rage.

Finally, she calmed down, her gaze returning to Elias's motionless body.

She curled up next to him, finding a comfortable position, her demeanor softening as if she found solace in his presence, reminiscent of a child seeking her mother's embrace.

"bro, we're about to be together forever," she said with a smile, pulling out the knife from her chest.

Ignoring the bleeding, her complexion turned pale.

In the dim candlelight, their intertwined figures in the blood pool looked almost eternal...

Elias closed his eyes, surrendering to the inevitable.
