While the family was discussing the canned herring, Monica approached with a smile.
"It's nice to see how close you all are. I'm quite envious."
Luna's smile faded, and Isabella playfully looked at her, "You and Evelyn seem to get along well too."
Evelyn ran over and hugged Monica's leg, rubbing against it affectionately, "Of course! Monica is my favorite!"
Monica sighed and gently patted Evelyn's head, "Go play, sweetie. The adults are talking about important things."
Evelyn's face fell in disappointment.
The scene felt oddly familiar to Luna...
"Even though Uncle Joe has pardoned the younger generation..." Monica attempted to gauge Isabella's opinion, "Lanie and Lyle are still a problem. They won't let this go easily."
"The Mia of now is the Lanie and Lyle of the future," Isabella said coldly. "If you ask me, it'd be best if they didn't survive tonight's events at Thorn Castle, to prevent future troubles."
