Synopsis
Waking up to find pokemon speaking to you may seem either scary or amazing depending on how you view things, but what's even more daunting is to find that there aren't any humans in the world. Yes, this includes me. Turning to an eevee was beyond my wildest imagination (not like I have any recollection of my previous self and my previous imaginations). Join me in my adventures in the pokemon world as an eevee as I make new pokemon friends and try to regain my memories when I was a human.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 – Evv the Eevee

As my consciousness starts coming back to me, I can faintly feel something poking at me. Although it didn't hurt, I could feel the mild annoyance bubbling up inside me, similar to how one would feel when being woken up in the morning. My eyes are too heavy for me to open right now, so I kind of get the impression that I'm a dead animal being toyed with by kids with a stick.

'Mmmgh…'

The natural grumble that came out of my mouth felt off for some reason. I couldn't put my finger on it, but it didn't feel like it was supposed to sound like that. It was probably because I just woke up though.

"Ah! It's alive! Run!!"

How rude. Don't just kill someone off like that. They sound like kids though, so I guess my impression was spot on.

After getting back a bit of energy, I'm finally able to move my muscles bit by bit. As my eyelids started opening slowly, my surroundings and where I currently am started becoming clear to me. I'm glad the first thing I see is the turquoise water and the bright orange sky right above it. The air tastes salty and the grizzly sand under me is kind of irritating though. How the hell did I get to a beach? In fact, it doesn't seem like I can recall anything. Either I bumped my head on a rock, or I was just from some insane party for me to not remember anything.

The voices from before came from behind me, but I don't actually see any kids as I turn my head. Was I hearing things? Is that a pichu holding a branch? There's even a cleffa on its left and a turtwig on its right. I don't see any trainers around, but they don't seem like the kind of wild pokemon you'd see in a beach though.

"Hey, what's your name?"

Did that pichu just… speak?

Nah, I probably just swallowed some sea water and started hallucinating. It did seem like I got washed up on shore so that's probably the most logical explanation here.

"I don't think it understands you, Pachi."

Even the turtwig can speak and has a surprisingly cute voice.

Ah, right, I was blanking out and ignored them for a bit there. Even if this bizarre dream will disappear soon, I should still be a bit courteous to the little group of talking pokemon asking for my name there. Wait, that's right, I don't recall my name. I'm not sure why people rub their hands on their chin when they start thinking, as if it makes them think better, but I guess I'm no exception. This fluffiness under my head is tickling my skin though. Was I always this hairy?

Brown hair all over me? Paws? Fluffy neck beard? I need to use the water as mirror right now.

'What the fuck?'

I may not have any clear memories but I'm pretty sure I was human, not an eevee. So, uh… What the fuck?

Ah, I almost forgot, I'm hallucinating right now so most of what I'm seeing right now probably isn't real. Who would've thought salt-induced hallucinations would seem so realistic though?

'Hey guys, do you mind pinching me or hitting me with that stick you have there? I seem to be seeing and hearing weird things right now so this must be a daydream.'

"Hey Pachi, it's speaking to us! Does that mean it understands us?"

This turtwig, that's most likely just a figment of my imagination, is starting to get on my nerves. Damn kids, talking about me as if I'm not here. At least I think they're kids. I'm assuming baby pokemon are equivalent to kids.

"Hey, you're supposed to introduce yourself first! We're not supposed to be friendly with strangers!"

Yea they seem like kids. This pichu is quite cautious for a kid, it must've been raised well.

'That's true, my bad. You can call me… uh… Evv.'

Impeccable naming sense for something I have to think of on the spot, if I have to say so myself.

"Okay Mr. Evv, we can hit you with the stick now if you'd like."

Well, that was easier than expected, so much for being raised cautiously. The cleffa seems to be scared of me, hiding behind the pichu, as I approach them. Is this cute little eevee really that scary? I haven't heard a single word coming from the pink little guy so I'm guessing it's just the timid kind.

ZAPPP!

A lightning bolt struck in front of me before I could even react well. The sand ahead of me turned to ash as my life flashed before my eyes. I don't actually have memories of my life though so that went by pretty fast, starting from when I just woke up 5 minutes ago.

"Stay away!"

A pikachu comes rushing from further back. I didn't notice it before because I was so fixated on my newfound fur and the talking pokemon, but there seems to be a village nearby from where the pikachu came running from.

"Who are you and what do you want from us?"

"It's okay Kachi, Mr. Evv told us his name, so he isn't a stranger anymore."

I'm surprised the pichu defended me so fast before I could even speak for myself, we just met after all. I'd be so touched if I didn't know these are just a bunch of naïve kids. This pikachu is intensely glaring at me, as if I manipulated them into believing in me. Hey, it's not my fault those kids are so trusting of others, all I told them was my name.

'Hey, I'm not trying to hurt anyone. If anything, I'm the one looking to get hurt right now.'

That came out wrong. I promise I'm not a pervert. Now this pikachu is glaring at me even more, any more and I'll get paralyzed. I'm pretty sure pikachus don't learn glare though. It's weird how I remember what moves a pokemon can learn but I can't even remember my own name. I must've been a pretty dedicated trainer before all this.

While my random thoughts are running rampant, a flock of wingulls comes flying from the direction of the sea. Those bird eyes don't look very friendly, and they seem to be zooming into the direction of those kids.

"Very reckless of you pidgey brains to be diving straight into a lightning type. Discharge!"

A ball of lightning gradually surrounds the pikachu and instantly bursts into the surroundings, zapping all the wingulls around.

Becareful, you have kids and an innocent bystander nearby! …is what I thought of at first but that was a surprisingly accurate attack. I thought discharge was supposed to indiscriminately attack the user's surroundings.

While the pikachu is distracted, a pelipper comes rushing from behind, aiming for the cleffa.

'Watch out!'

I'm not sure what came over me when I shouted that, but my legs start vibrating and my body leaps onto the fray on its own. Everything around me seems to start moving extremely slowly, giving me a chance to run to and whip the pelipper with my tail, knocking him backwards.

Whoah did I just do a quick attack? Seeing everything around me move so slowly felt so weird. So, this is what a pokemon feels when attacking. I'm starting to think none of this is a dream or hallucination.

It seems like I gave enough time for the pikachu to turn back and realize what just happened, as he crouches down a bit and points his tail towards the fallen pelipper, gathering electricity at his tail's end.

"Thunderbolt!"

As I gaze at the black and burnt pelipper on the sand, I just stand there in awe and dumb founded. Watching pokemon fight as humans and actually being in the fight feels so different and I'm not used to this. Seems like this definitely isn't a dream. I've actually become a pokemon. What the fuck?
