Samantha could not believe her eyes. She refused to believe that she was not in a dream.
She opened her mouth to speak, but couldn't find her voice.
She stood there like a statue while her husband entirely ignored her presence.
She could finally speak after some time and took some steps forward even though her feet felt wobbly.
"Ste-", Samantha uttered but was interrupted by the girl whom Reid was sleeping with.
"Ugh, I can't do this any more", the girl Reid was sleeping with said while adjusting herself to sit down comfortably on one side of the bed. She dragged the bedsheets from under Reid's body, using them to wrap herself in it.
"Reid, I can't believe you haven't told her yet", she said while rolling her eyes and turning to face him.
"Sorry, baby, thought she wouldn't show up ever again". He said while wrapping his towel around his waist, moving towards where she was and caressing her cheek
Samantha just stood there watching the drama before her in horror.
She could feel the pain of being betrayed by her husband and her best friend at the same time which pierced her chest.
"Hackle, h-how -". Samantha paused for a bit to steady her breath and stop stammering.
She was sure that this was just a misunderstanding. Her best friend would never do this to her.
But Samantha's doubts were proven the next moment as Chloe handed her a divorce letter wearing a big smirk on her face.
"Reid's signature is already on it, don't drag this out and sign yours too". She said while moving to where Reid was and sat down beside him.
Samantha looked at the paper in her hands and could feel her chest tighten when she saw Reid's signature boldly engraved on it.
She could feel her eyes water and felt embarrassed by it.
She knew her husband had cheated on her many times in the past and had gotten used to enduring the pain.
But today own was different.
Samantha loved Chloe with all her heart and was forever indebted to her for all the times she had been there for her in her worst moments.
She had never expected Chloe to do this to her.
She was not going to take this idly, she must stop the fight between her and Reid from worsening.
She didn't sleep with another man for nothing. What If she got pregnant, what would become of her and the baby? She wondered to herself.
At the thought of this, Samantha could feel her heat sink.
She turned to Steven and calmly spoke.
"I slept with a man in the bar, hopefully, I'll get pregnant soon, so don't be angry any more. If you are doing this as an excuse to vent your anger or get back at me, then I'm sorry, I won't do that any more, please send her back".
Samantha said, praying desperately that everything would end at her words.
Chloe burst out laughing, startling Samantha in the process.
"You are a big fool, Sam", she forced out while rolling her head in laughter.
Reid meanwhile had a deep scowl on his face as he stared at Samantha in anger.
"You are a selfish, inconsiderate and stupid bitch.
You think I would accept such a slut like you any more?".
He said while standing up, pointing his finger at Samantha angrily.
Chloe, on the other hand, had stopped laughing and was wearing a huge smirk on her face.
"She still doesn't get the point". She added, plastering a mischievous grin on her face.
"I'm done with your sorry ass, go on and keep on fucking everyone at the bar. I don't give a damn, 'cause I've found the girl for me". He shouted while turning back to point at Chloe.
"After having bewitched me for years, she came into my life and opened my eyes.
Your time has run out, and you can no longer keep doing evil.
Chloe is pregnant with my child. You are the one infertile, not me.
If not for her kind act of revealing how you bribed the doctor, I'd have kept on living in shame!". He was still ready to shout more until Chloe came to his side and cuddled him to calm down. He looked at her and smiled, before turning to Samantha and said,
So, sign that divorce paper and leave my life.
Samantha, on the other hand, was shocked to the core when she heard Steven say that Chloe was pregnant with his child.
She never knew Chloe could be so wicked as to give Reid false hope and frame her for what she didn't do.
Samantha couldn't stop the tears running down her cheeks as she watched the two lovers in front of her with unbearable pain.
She would never have believed that her relationship with Reid would end this way.
She wondered if all the love she had showered on Reid over the years had meant nothing to him that he could dump her so easily.
Samantha slowly exhaled and cleaned the tears on her face, before speaking.
Reid, I promise you, this will be the very last day I'll cry because of you.
I'm done with you and I promise to never bother you in your life ever again.
So after I sign these divorce papers, everything between us is over. She said coldly.
She signed the divorce papers, quickly, taking her copy of it and throwing the other one on the ground.
Then left the room immediately without any bit of hesitation.
Samantha muttered to herself as she left,
"This shitty marriage drama ends here".
