Selene POV
We both turned to see Noah standing a few paces away, his face drawn and tense. He looked like he hadn't slept and his eyes flicked between us with an intensity that made my stomach churn.
"Noah!" I greeted, my voice softer now, followed by an awkwardness since our interactions yesterday. "Good morning."
Lucius glanced between us and cleared his throat. "I'll give you two some space," he said, stepping back before turning and disappearing into the pack house.
I watched him go before turning back to Noah. His gaze was still fixed on me as though he was searching for something he couldn't quite find.
"I've been looking for you, for a moment I thought it was all a dream and that you hadn't come home yet," he said, his voice strained. "Where have you been?"
"Just… out for a walk," I replied, my tone guarded.
