Kurtis POV
I had lied to Selene about seeing the moon goddess and maybe about some part of the conversation.
Was this a cross for her to bear? To take her husband's place and to what end? To end generations of curses? I was so lost in thought that I didn't hear someone come into my room until they tapped me.
On the defensive, I turned ready to strike a blow when I saw Lucius and Xavier staring at me strangely. Xavier arched his brow at me while Lucius regarded me quietly. I wondered if he still hated me or if he was ready to speak to me now.
"Relax, Kurtis," Xavier scoffed dropping on the couch in my room "And congratulations on your reinstatement as Alpha. What are you going to call your pack? I'm surprised you're not celebrating as much as I would have imagined you would be doing. Why? What's wrong?"
