Selene POV
I laid in between the girls watching them sleep with a crooked, sad smile on my face. I couldn't believe that I'd not be here to watch them grow and the little pup in my stomach too.
I rubbed at my stomach gently, a puzzled smile on my face. All my life, I've worked so hard to run away from every reminder of my past life but to think that I cannot get away from it, that it was destined to be… that it was my 'Fate' and not something I can escape. Everything, I've ever worked for, ever believed in was a joke.
Sighing, I pushed myself to the edge of the bed gently and rose to my feet, turning to look at my sleeping children, I sighed one last time. I will give up now. There was nothing I could do anyway. These few months, I would take care of them the best way I can and show them what it means to be loved.
And the first step would be shutting down the Office of the Luna.
