Thorn and Aria rushed straight to Paul's side, where he faced a vampire soldier clad in heavy armor. The soldier wielded a Zwaihender longsword, its edge shimmering with a bloody red aura, a menacing threat to all in its path.
Though not vampiric in origin, the blade bore the hallmark of vampire forge craft.
With a mighty swing, the vampire aimed to cleave through Paul, the force behind the blow enough to shatter even a boulder. Yet, to the astonishment of all, the strike met an unexpected obstacle.
A rusty chain, draped around Paul's form, intercepted the blow, shielding him from harm. The vampire's sword failed to pierce the chain, unable to shatter the protective barrier it provided.
The force of such a powerful strike did not even faze Paul as his chains began to move strangely, acting as both a weapon and a defensive shield.
