For some reason Shirley had been feeling very uneasy these past few days. With Rosemary remaining silent and doing nothing it made Shirley even more worried.
"Why isn't she doing anything?" Shirley bit the tip of her fingernail uneasily.
Actually, Shirley was happier if Rosemary did something to her, rather than her just staying quiet like now.
Normally Shirley would not want to join Rosemary and her two children eating together in the dining room. But, this time Shirley decided to join in.
No matter what, Shirley needed to find information about her father, until now she still hadn't heard any news of his return.
When Shirley stepped into the dining room, she saw Charlotte and Shawn already sitting quietly there.
When Shirley stepped inside she saw Charlotte glance at her sharply, she even saw Charlotte look away and not greet her at all.
"That little girl really doesn't appreciate me as her older sister," Shirley thought with resentment, but she didn't say anything.
Shirley sat gracefully in her seat next to Shawn, but she should have been sitting where Charlotte was.
"Where's your mother, Shawn?" Rather than Charlotte, Shirley favoured Shawan, her younger half-brother.
"I think she will come soon," Shawn replied coldly.
Shirley simply nodded and waited patiently for Rosemary. Shirley just stayed there and didn't say anything else, but it seemed Charlotte didn't intend to.
"Why are you coming to breakfast with us?" Charlotte raised her chin high and glanced at Shirley.
"I live here, of course I have the right to have breakfast here," Shirley replied casually.
"You're just saying something like that now?" This time it wasn't Charlotte who spoke up, but Rosemary who had just arrived.
Shirley, who remembered what Rosemary had done earlier, involuntarily shook her head in surprise when she heard Rosemary's voice in her ear.
"You've come, madam." Shirley greeted Rosemary politely, she did not dare to act carelessly at this moment.
"It's good to see you here," Rosemary replied simply, sitting next to Charlotte.
Shirley forced a polite smile at Rosemary's words, she felt her body involuntarily tremble slightly at the sight of Rosemary's figure.
When the others weren't paying attention to her Shirley rubbed her arm gently, wishing her body could stop shaking with fear.
After Rosemary arrived breakfast began to be served one by one by the maids.
Shirley originally thought that the food that would be served to her would be different, but it was not. Shirley secretly breathed a sigh of relief that Rosemary had not been that cruel to her.
After a while, Shirley opened her voice to ask Rosemary something.
"Madam, do you know when father will be home?" Shirley had gathered all her courage to ask Rosemary this.
A smirk appeared on Rosemary's face when she heard Shirley's question.
"From the last letter I received, Gilbert still has a lot of business in the capital," Rosemary replied, then slowly looked up and looked at Shirley.
"It looks like it will be about a month before Gilbert returns," Rosemary continued as she noticed the change in Shirley's face.
Shirley did her best to smile when she heard Rosemary's answer. She did not want Rosemary to take advantage of her weakness.
"Do you like to discuss that matter of Count Janice's invitation?" This time Rosemary actually grinned widely as she said that.
Unable to help herself Shirley rounded her eyes in surprise at that moment, she did not know how Rosemary could know about the banquet.
Charlotte who heard that immediately perked up, "What do you mean by Count Janice's invitation, Mother?!"
"Count Janice intends to hold a banquet for the engagement of Lady Thalia and Duke Blair." Rosemary lovingly explained the invitation to Charlotte.
With the two of them chatting happily, things were different for Shirley.
Shirley was very shaken when she realised that Rosemary seemed to already know what she wanted to do.
Shirley's body continued to tremble and unconsciously her head lowered tensely.
"We've got an invitation, do you want to come, darling?" asked Rosemary as she gently stroked Charlotte's hair.
"Of course, I want to go!" Charlotte nodded her head vigorously, she couldn't wait to see Noah who hadn't been seen lately.
"Well, I'll trust you to represent our family at the banquet," Rosemary replied, not asking for any other advice when making this decision.
Shirley looked up to stare at Rosemary, she had to speak up now, otherwise she wouldn't be able to do anything later.
"But, madam! I want to go there too, Noah will want me to accompany him there," Shirley interrupted quickly.
"You have no words to say here! I've already decided that Charlotte is going to the banquet." Rosemary narrowed her eyes sharply.
"Madam, please let me go there too." Shirley had promised Noah to help her, she could not give up here.
"No! You cannot leave this mansion from today, if you dare to break my word, you know what will happen to you!" Rosemary sentenced Shirley to punishment.
Shirley's face turned pale as she realised her plan was attacking herself. Now she could not leave the mansion at all.
After the inharmonious breakfast was over, one by one they left until only Shirley was left there.
Shirley's gaze was still blank at the moment, she sat there pensively without doing anything.
"My plan is ruined, how did that witch find out about the banquet, she even got an invitation," Shirley muttered while biting her finger restlessly.
"I can't just stay still." Shirley started to stand up from there and returned to her room.
Right now Shirley had to immediately think of another plan, she would only ask Noah for help if she could not do anything.
One thing Shirley knew right now was that she better not bother Rosemary. Shirley had to pretend to obey and make Rosemary not suspect her.
"Is there a letter for me, Ivy?" That was the first thing Shirley asked when she walked into her room.
Ivy looked at her excitedly, "Yes, Miss! There's a letter from Young Master Joseph!" Ivy handed Shirley a letter and a bag.
At least one good thing happened to Shirley today, for a moment she could breathe a sigh of relief.
"She finally wrote me back." Shirley impatiently opened the letter from Joseph on the sofa in her room.
Shirley read the letter quickly, then she quickly turned towards the small bag that came with the letter.
As Shirley opened the bag her eyes blinked in disbelief at what was inside that bag, she saw some sparkling thing there.
