"Oh ??"
The following second, finally finding an opening to riposte, the Minotaur sent a violent kick directly aiming at the girl's head, luckily fast enough to jump on it, using it to propel herself away.
Once again, it seemed that mundane weapons or tools had absolutely no effect against the monster, not even scratched a little by the blade's attack.
"You freaking..."
What else could Celia use then ?? Releasing the useless handle, the Aurora looked with wrath around her, her two sparking orange eyes quickly crossing the whole area in research for special objects.
But there was absolutely nothing worth her attention here, only debris, and smoke...
"Freaking bastard..."
Celia's body was filled with pain, her broken arm's condition only getting worse each minute passing by, as multiple bruises and scratches deeply covered the rest of her body.
Yet, now the monster too seemed deeply wounded, flesh and blood disgustedly splattering on the ground, coming from its now deformed head.
And being in such a state didn't seem to make it happy, as it lunged once again with wrath toward Celia, preparing a violent blow with its right claw.
Within a second, the creature's body crashed at Celia's position, its limb awkwardly stretching to her torso in order to transpierce it...
... But Celia was quicker.
Dodging by a hair the fatal slash by backing away, the Aurora then lunged too at the creature's direction, the sudden wave of adrenaline surging within her body tremendously increasing her reactivity.
Deep within her torso, also started to appear a strange sensation, a burning circle, pulsing like a second heart, as its warmth quickly spread through her arms and limbs.
"AAH !"
The girl's body stopped a few centimeters away of the creature's, her back suddenly curving away from it while her valid arm locked in, strength and energy profusely filling it.
And then... She instantly moved her upper body, giving even more speed to the punch she had just thrown at the creature's, dangerously approaching its body.
And just before Celia suddenly got covered by blood, a deafening scream escaped from the Minotaur's mouth, filled with wrath and pain, before turning silent...
And so, forever...
Indeed, Celia's punch, filled with all her might, quickly reached the creature's skin, passing through so easily that it looked like butter. The next second, half of her arm also traversed the Minotaur's torso, long and deep scratches forming everywhere around the hole, where Celia's hand firmly grabbed something violently pounding within the creature's chest.
A few seconds later, when the girl pulled the creature's heart outside of its body, where thousands of scratches and cut suddenly appeared, she backed away with fear, releasing the heart with disgust as she barely contained herself from vomiting.
"Aaah... Aaah... Aaah..."
Out of breath, she fell on the ground, the strange circle suddenly aching her as if it was tearing her whole body apart, the dangerous, and horrible pain, almost making her faint away.
"Lords... What's going on now...?"
Celia's eyes closed during multiple seconds, as the Aurora pressed her back against one of the street's house, still facing the crater where Asaki got crushed.
Did she really, just killed one of the monster ?? It was its heart, it must've been its heart ! How was she able to pierce through something so dense with bare hands, and kill it ??
How did she... What was this strange sensation she had felt ? Now aching her like crazy ?
And...
"Asaki..."
Reopening her eyes, with difficulty because of her fight, Celia tiredly looked at the man's direction, quickly forgetting everything about her "great" victory.
Once again... She hadn't been able to save someone, and instead, got saved by them...
"Useless..."
As an Aurora, as a person, and as a human... Celia hadn't won anything... This kill was nothing, nothing but luck and incomprehension, a random punch suddenly becoming so fatal...
"Asaki..."
°°°
Hardly walking at his direction, the Aurora slowly fell on her knees when she first saw the motionless body of her companion, his usual smart and gentle eyes closed.
In this state, two of his limbs were awkwardly contorted in an impossible position, and Celia wasn't sure that he had survived, the close sight of his body's state being enough to easily guess that he was probably dead.
After all, 300 kilograms suddenly falling on you from the sky... Nobody could survive...
The girl then slowly kneeled at this right, desperately trying to reach for his hand, or what could remain of it.
"Asaki... I'm so... I'm so sorry..."
Tears quickly formed inside of Celia's eyes, her lips slightly trembling as she hardly managed to avoid crying again, firmly holding Asaki's hand as her eyes locked into his face.
"I couldn't... I couldn't even protect you in the end..."
Now silently sobbing, the woman kept holding his hand during minutes, warmth and sadness surrounding the two of them.
A bit further in the middle of the smoke, however, kept staring at her, three pair of eyes, too scared to come try their luck for the moments against the one whom had just killed one of them.
And so... During minutes, the girl kept crying over Asaki's dead body, holding his hand even harder, so well that, after a few more seconds, the wave of warmth suddenly engulfed within her body again, and soon traversed Asaki's...
This time, Celia's wound started to solidify before her own eyes, and heal way faster than any other humans on earth, the girl's heart pounding way too loudly facing such an unusual view.
But as her body continued to heal...
Asaki's wounds also started to solidify, starting by his hand.
