"Your mother had some emergency at work to take care of." Vincent lied, he couldn't just tell his kids that their mother ran off to God knows where.
At the moment all he needs is some space to think and process everything that happened.
"We should wait for her then." Anna stretched holding her teddy with one hand as she went back to sit on the couch, her eyes were obviously still droopy and she clearly felt sleepy yet she wanted to congratulate her mother.
Vincent clenched his fists tightly watching his daughter's action then sighed, cleaning his feet on the door mat, he went over and squatted to Anna's level.
"Princess you clearly look sleepy, why don't you just go instead and get some rest instead." Vincent cooed, he wanted to hug her but due to the fact he is soaked with water and smudged with mud he couldn't.
