Christopher paced up and down the room.
"Why isn't he here yet?" He asked angrily.
"Sir, preparing documents isn't something that takes two minutes." Samson explained.
Christopher grunted.
One of his men ran into the room.
"Sir, Mr. Powers is here."
He smirked, "Finally."
Christian walked into the room and looked around.
"I'm over here, dearest brother." He laughed.
Christian sighed and walked towards him. His lawyers was walking behalf him.
"Is Brandon here?" Brandon was Christopher's personal lawyer.
Brandon came in that instant.
"Ah. Brandon. You're right on time." He welcomed him.
"Where is Christine?" Christian asked.
"First things first. We sign the papers first and then you get your daughter." He smirked.
"At least let me see her face."
Christopher rolled his eyes.
"Bring his daughter here "
They led Christine outside. She was wrapped in wires. Christian was horrified.
"C'mon Brandon, you know what to do."
Brandon nodded. He faced Christian.
"Mr. Powers sign fill this form please." Brandon told him.
Christian took the pen from him him, he looked at the form, at Christine then at the firm. He sighed and began to fill it.
He filled it.
"Sign here."
"Wait." Adam, Christian's lawyer took the papers from Brandon. He scanned through them. He nodded seeing everything in place.
"Sign it Mr. Powers." Brandon said.
Christian hesitated.
"Sign it or else." He raised the detonator.
"Okay, okay. I'll sign it."
He signed the first, second and third. He was about signing the last.
"Christian wait!"
They all turned around.
Annie stood at the entrance with some police men.
Christopher cursed, "You brought the police?"
Christian was too shocked to say anything. How did she know he came here?
"Don't sign it Christian." She said with a straight face.
"What the f*ck? You brought the police?" Christopher yelled.
"Now I know Christian, you don't love your daughter. You brought the police hey?"
Christian shook his head, "I didn't bring the police. I don't even know how they got here." He defended himself.
"Handcuff him." The police chief told the constables.
Christopher pressed the detonator and it began count down.
Christian's eyes popped out in horror.
"Christopher!"
The police chief was angered.
"What are you waiting for knuckle heads. Get him!" He yelled at them.
Christopher took out another detonator.
"You come any closer, this place blows off."
The constables stood rooted to the ground.
"Today, in 30 minutes, you have a bye-bye to your little Angel." He grinned evily.
Christine was in tears.
Annie felt her heart stop.
Christine yelled at Annie frustrated, "Annie why in the world are the police here?!"
"I came to save my daughter!"
"Well she is in trouble because of you!" He shouted.
"Don't yell at me!"
He held his head not knowing what to do.
Christopher laughed, "Today you'll lose your daughter. Soon you'll lose everything! Everything will soon be mine!" He laughed.
A constable quietly moved behind him. Seizing the detonator from him, he pointed a gun at him.
Christopher smiled, "Tryna act smart huh?"
He kicked the Constable's groin. He groaned in pain. The police chief fired at him but he dodged.
He took the Constable's pistol and shot him in the head. He fired at the police chief and it hit his forehead.
Christine screamed. He pointed the pistol and told her to be quiet.
Christopher please don't harm my daughter." Annie cried.
"Sign those papers Christian or else I'll pull the trigger and your Angel will be gone."
Christian with shaky hands took the pen again.
"Christian don't sign it. This man is a bad person." Christine said.
Christopher looked at her irritated.
"It seems you're begging for death." He told her.
Annie was horrified, "Please Christine, I beg you. Don't say anything."
"Sign it!"
Annie looked at him. Christine looked at him shaking her head.
"Sign it Mr. Powers." Brandon told him.
His hand was almost pushing the trigger.
"Remember, the bomb is also counting down and I'm the only one who can defuse it here." He smirked.
Christian looked at Christine. He gulped.
Christine shook her head. Annie looked at him and back at Christine.
"I don't wanna lose you Christine." He said and he signed the papers.
"Yes! Yes!"
Christine eyes watered.
Adam took them from him and handed it to Brandon, "Here you go."
Christopher snatched the papers from Brandon.
"Everything is mine! Yes! I've got them back!" He laughed out loud.
"Now can you defuse the bomb?" Christian pleaded.
Christopher looked at him amused, "Oh no brother. Why would I do that?"
"Because you promised."
"I'm sorry brother, I can't do that."
Annie gasped in shock, "But Christian signed the papers!" She cried in shock.
Christopher's face hardened, "The property was supposed to be in my name. So it's none of my business. Your daughter is gonna die anyways." His hardened frown turned into a stupid smirk.
Annie broke down in loud sobbing.
"Mommy."
Annie ran to Christine, "My child nothing is gonna Happ to you. Nothing will happen to you." She sobbed.
Christopher spun around in victory, laughing.
Christian suddenly remembered something, Christopher was allergic to dust!
The building they were in was dusty. He slowly bent down. He took some dust in his hand discreetly. He stood up and acted normal.
"Christopher we had a deal." He steadily walked towards him.
Christopher was irritated, get turned to face him but Christian had threw dust at him.
He blinked, his eyes got watery. He sneezed severally. The pistol dropped from his hand.
Christian took it and pointed at Christopher. Samson rushed to Christian but Annie hit his head with a pole she found lying around.
Christopher staggered around and he crashed into the unsteady wall, broke through it and fell outside.
One of his men screamed, "Master can't swim, he fell into the river!"
They all ran outside leaving Christian and the rest inside.
"Christian the bomb has twelve more minutes and it'll explode!" She cried.
Christian was confused,"Oh no, Christopher was the only one who could defuse the bomb." He panicked.
"Christian do something!" She screamed.
"Sir, why don't you call the Bomb disposal unit sir?" Adam chipped in.
Christian nodded.
"Christian we have 9 more minutes!"
Christian looked at Christine who was crying profusely.
"Nothing will happen to you dear." He heaved, "I'll have to defuse it myself." He breathed.
"Sir you don't know how to defuse a bomb."
"There's no time for that."
He moved to Christine, "Nothing will happen to you dear." He looked at the wires. Where was he gonna start from? With much effort, he managed to pull the wires out of Christine's body.
"C'mon get out of here." He told them.
"How about you?" Annie asked.
"Forget about that!" He yelled at her, "Take Christine out of here!"
Confused and scared, she took Christine by the hand and began to run out, Adam following.
The bomb was counting, 4 minutes left.
Christian began to leave the place but heavy boxes fell in his way, trapping him.
Christine looked back.
"Mommy. Christian is inside."
"He's coming out dear." She assured her.
"But Mommy we can't leave without him."
"We have to." She tried telling her.
"I wanna go back Mommy."
"No Christine, you are not going back in there."
Christine realeased her hold and ran inside.
"Christine come back here!"
Christine didn't listen.
And the bomb exploded.
