In the end, I sneaked into the 'royal' girls' dormitory and made my way toward Isabella Rose's room.
On the way, I encountered a few female students but they passed my side leisurely. Truly, stealth magic was the best.
Fortunately, I didn't witness a scene that would hurt my conscience once more. The 'royal' dormitory was something else, they were still acting pretty reserved even though there were no boys there.
It wasn't like I was complaining though.
Climbing to the second floor via stairs, I wandered my eyes on the door numbers.
My eyes momentarily landed on the 97 numbered door. A subtle scent of blood was coming from behind the door.
'Well, that is normal for women, I shouldn't act like a pervert.'
Remembering a fact about women I averted my eyes and continued my way.
Or I was about to continue until something came to my mind and stopped me.
'If I don't remember incorrectly, the vigilante entered back to her room via this side from the window, and I read from the newspaper that the vigilante was injured... Was that her room by any chance?'
I was putting of learning the identity of the vigilante for some time now. Because learning her identity wasn't going to help me in any way.
But now that I got to know where the vigilante might staying, finding her from the records wouldn't be too hard. All I just needed to ask the vice principal about who was staying in room 97.
Deciding what to do, I moved my legs again and eventually found Isabella Rose's room.
Opening the door with the magical card key I took from Isabella Rose's unconscious body, I threw myself inside before someone was to see the movements of the door.
Immediately, dusty air irritated my nose.
The room was dark and the curtains were closed, preventing the rays of the crimson moon from illuminating inside.
[Light]
A ball of light materialized above my palm as I cast basic light magic.
With the help of the light, I clearly saw the state of the room.
The inside of the room was not touched. The stillness of the room was eerie and the shadows were deeper than usual.
The floor, couches, bed, tables, and everything was covered with dust. It looked like no one lived here the past week.
'I see... Probably the devil that was controlling Isabella Rose didn't bring guards and maids so that he wouldn't get caught.'
However, there was something I was curious about. How did this amount of dust pile in this room in such a short amount of time? Isabella Rose must have at least slept here the past week, so how there is no sign of someone living here?
The bed was untouched, it was also the same for the couches of any other soft things one could sleep.
If I didn't know and if someone were to say that just a day ago this room was used by a high noble, I would mock without restraints. But seeing with my own two eyes was a strange experience.
"Maybe..." I muttered and turned to the door where I entered just a moment ago, precisely, at the left side of the door where the door opened. There, my eyes caught a pair of footsteps on the dusty floor.
"Don't tell me the devil made Isabella Rose stand like a creepy doll for the past week instead of letting her body rest?"
It was creepy. I congratulated my past self for his decision about not entering Isabella Rose's room before today.
After all, if my guess was true, then that meant I would get the scare of my life if I entered from the door.
'Damn...'
Ignoring the chills and goosebumps, I stepped onto the dust and searched through the large room.
Now, in my hand were two diaries, a few notebooks, and lastly, a romance novel.
I didn't choose these randomly, all of them were relatively clean than other items in the room. This meant that, before Isabella Rose fell into the devil's control, these were the items she touched. The chance to find something worthy was higher in these items.
First opening the notebooks, I skimmed through their contents.
Isabella Rose also didn't know the devil's True Name, she just had some guesses that she deemed as 'useless', however, I learned from Lars that I could get the devil's True Name from her notes via piecing the clues. So, ultimately they were not useless guesses but the real deal.
'Well, True Names aren't like "Tom", "Dick", or "Harry". They are long and random.
Even Isabella Rose's having correct guesses about the True Name of the devil was pretty surprising.
'If she is alive, I might use her. She seems like she has a talent for this thing.'
I skimmed through the diaries and notebooks without any problem. After all, I personally witnessed her memories, reading her diary wasn't that conscience-hurting.
Then lastly, I read the romance book, and an hour later I closed with a slightly flushed face.
'Damn, the female lead is an aggressive stalker. Strangely, I lik—'
Slap!
"Fuck... I immersed myself in the book instead of looking for clues." I whispered to myself as I once again opened the book, this time fully focused on finding the clues.
...
Time flew as I spent nearly three hours to find the clues and four hours to piece them together.
The sun began to shyly show itself but I was reluctant to open the curtains.
My eyes and brain were hurting while my body was full of energy.
I needed to sleep to rest my mind I was tired as hell, but sleeping was never easy, at least for me.
"At least, I found the devil's True Name. Maybe I can sleep after killing him with tiring my body." I muttered as I looked at the name that was ominously shining on the paper.
With that, I sneakily took the book titled "Love You to Death, Literally" and got out of Isabella Rose's room.
