Chapter 11 - Harem?

"Class dismissed."

With the announcement of the professor, students stood from their seats and made their way towards the door.

My gaze turned to Seraphina. Currently, she was whispering with a few noble ladies with a big bright smile. Her eyes were sparkling and she was occasionally giggling. She was having fun.

'She grew up finely huh... Who would have thought that six years was enough to make me feel like a stranger to her?'

I turned my back to leave.

There was no need for a hurry to speak about how she forgot my special physical constitution. Even though I was worried about her and her possible memory loss, seeing her speak with her friends with such joy lessened my worries.

'She didn't even show this expression back in the day…'

I felt a little lonely though. Still, that was my fault, so I needed to endure this unnecessary loneliness. I hadn't visited the house for six years, hence I hadn't seen Seraphina that much time.

My steps were a bit heavier than before.

Passing through the door, my eyes caught the commoner boy, who gave himself Lightbringer last name. He was currently on his knees, rubbing his swollen forehead.

"Stand in front of the door."

I remembered the professor's punishment for him and got the gist of the situation.

'He must have fallen face first on the floor when the door slammed open to his back by the students.'

Understanding this, I was amused. Did he really stand in the way of the door like an idiot?

'Such an interesting guy... How will this guy even change my life? Can't I kill him right now for the stability of my future?'

Killing someone who was going to one way or another put a mark on my way was a better choice than betting on my luck that the change would be for good. Especially the one who would change my daily life was this idiotic guy.

Jump!

The gray-haired boy quickly jumped on his feet and looked around cautiously. His eyes, which were strangely shaking with fear, couldn't meet with my gaze, he couldn't look past my neck. Cold sweats slid down from his forehead to his chin, and lastly onto the floor.

'Really Interesting. He somehow sensed the momentary threat to his life even though I didn't emit any hostility.'

This guy piqued my interest.

From what I could tell, he was about 18 or 19 years old. So, it was a bit surprising that he somehow managed to react to my thoughts about killing him.

My intuition was special. It was similar to the instincts of wild beasts, monsters, demons, and devi– those crafty, sly pieces of shits'.

So, it wasn't a common thing to have this kind of intuition.

'Yet, this guy has it.' Or I assumed so.

Taking a deep breath, I silently prayed to my Mother, the goddess.

'You are the dark side of humanity.

'The bearer of our sins and a forgiving embrace.

'The gracious and divine Fallen!

'Please let my mind calm and sober! Please let me be purified from the dark feelings for a moment so that I can investigate this intuition of mine.'

Whoosh!

A cold feeling washed over me and my heart. The previous loneliness and the rage that I had suppressed calmed down with the gentle but chilly embrace of Mother.

Having understood that Holy Mother also approved my decision, I called out.

"Follow me,"

*******

"Follow me," The Chief Inspector and the temporary assistant professor Caelum Achard ordered the gray-haired, crystal-blue-eyed Lars Lightbringer(self-given).

Lars, who heard this lowered his head. Many thoughts raced in his mind while he was reluctantly following Caelum.

[Who was this guy? I couldn't see his face clearly because of the sudden sense of danger.] Lars thought while looking at Caelum's back.

[Whatever! I, the protagonist of this world, can deal with every NPC if given time! It doesn't matter if they are a Master or a Grand Mage or Knight.]

Lars, the self-proclaimed Lightbringer's confidence was strangely over the top even though he sensed the great danger to his life from this man clad in black military-style coat.

[Why did he call me? Is he going to bully me because I am a commoner now?]

He wasn't sure with his speculations, but it was still a possibility for him.

[Heh! I played this game countless times. I will easily deal with you after I learn your identity.]

In the game Lars played, there were many beginning character choices, and being a commoner was one of the hard routes. Being bullied by young masters and ladies was a common occurrence, hence not many people played this route.

However, Lars was one of the top 100 players in the game. Even though he didn't finish the game as a commoner, he had a few theories about how to clear the game as a commoner more or less.

[Hehehehhe, I might even make a harem of beautiful girls. Who was that platinum blonde-haired girl in the class? She was such a beauty. I don't remember seeing her in the game. Did I already create a butterfly effect?]

Suddenly, a cold, ruthless dread washed over Lars.

[Fuck! What was that?]

His heart hammered to his chest, causing agonizing pain.

[I will fucking die! This no-name crazy bastard will kill me in the middle of the academy!]

Lars opened his mouth to scream–

"...!"

but no voice came out.

He tried to take a breath, but his lungs didn't obey his orders. His vision slowly turned dark and his heart felt like it was going to explode.

Then, all of these abnormal signs disappeared.

"Huff... Puff... Huff... Puff..."

[Hah...hah... Who is this man?]

With this question in his mind, Lars parted his lips hesitantly.

"Umm...–"

But before he managed to utter a word, the space around him crumbled like a paper.

Lars found himself in a dark room illuminated by a single candle on a wooden table. He was sitting on a comfortable chair while the man he was previously following was now sitting in front of him.

With the help of the light of the candle, Lars managed to get a clear look at the man's face.

In an instant, his back was drenched in cold sweat.

[I am going to die...]

At that time, Lars realized he fucked up.
