"We need to talk," Galvin's voice sliced through the tense air, directed sharply at Newt. His eyes flickered briefly to Linda, who stood nearby, her hand still shimmering with the newly materialized Qi, before returning to Newt.
Newt met Galvin's cold gaze with a calm demeanor, his attention drawn to the mysterious blue dome hovering above.
"Leave," Newt instructed Linda, his tone firm yet gentle. Without protest, she complied, stepping away from the scene.
As Linda departed, Galvin advanced towards Newt, his anger palpable as he seized Newt by the collar, his grip tight and unyielding. "Why did you think I never helped her become a cultivator all these years?" he demanded, his voice laced with fury.
Newt maintained his composure under Galvin's intense glare. "Perhaps because it would have been difficult to control her if she attained cultivation, much like yourself," he offered calmly.
