The Teddy dog led Chutian to the door of the room and quickly yawned before running away.
Obviously, it was going back to sleep.
Chutian opened the door and saw that the room was decorated in a simple, even old-fashioned style.
There was a bed, a wardrobe, a bedside table, and a small bathroom.
The decoration style here was similar to the cheap motels Chutian had stayed in his previous life at the train station.
After locking the door and using his mental power to sense for any anomalies in the room, Chutian lay down on the bed.
Although the room was simple, it was clean.
After a good night's sleep, when Chutian woke up the next morning, the sky outside the window had turned completely dark. He went downstairs and saw the innkeeper, Farid, registering information for a mercenary who had just checked in. When he saw Chutian coming downstairs, he smiled and said, "Brother Lu, you're awake."
"Boss, is there any place to eat around here? I also need to post my task information," Chutian said as he walked up to the counter.
Farid finished registering the information of the new mercenary and then asked, "Brother Lu, in this area, the food is mostly the specialty of our Kunlun. As for the task, what kind of task do you want to post?"
"I need a guide who can take me to the Gates of Hell," Chutian said. As soon as he said this, Farid's expression turned somewhat unpleasant. After a few seconds, he opened the money chest under the counter and pushed ten Level 1 Spirit Crystals towards Chutian.
"Brother Lu, what makes you so determined to go to the Gates of Hell? Don't you know it's a deadly place with no return?" Farid spoke directly, trying to dissuade Chutian from his thoughts.
However, Chutian pushed the ten Level 1 Spirit Crystals back and said with a smile, "I'm not asking you to go, and besides, I just want to see it for myself."
With that, Chutian took out twenty more Level 1 Spirit Crystals from his system space and continued, "Don't worry, I'll just take a look outside the Gates of Hell. If there's any danger, I promise to turn back."
Upon hearing Chutian's words, Farid hesitated but eventually pushed all the Spirit Crystals into his money box under the counter and took out his communicator.
It turned out that the innkeeper had set up a platform similar to a forum where he could post employment information and communicate with others. Soon, Chutian's task was posted.
Chutian's task seemed simple, but in the vast snowy mountains, it held many dangers. He left the inn, had a meal at a restaurant, and returned to the inn an hour later.
When he checked the task projection, there was no response. He asked in confusion, "Why hasn't anyone taken the task?"
"Mainly because your task is very dangerous, and I guess no one wants to take it. How about setting a minimum reward for the task? That way, someone might be willing to accompany you," the innkeeper, Farid, suggested. "After all, the Gates of Hell are treacherous."
Hearing Farid's suggestion, Chutian nodded and said, "Let's set it at a minimum of one thousand Level 3 Spirit Crystals and one hundred materials from C-grade or above ferocious beasts. If there are any other requirements, they can come and negotiate with me. But I need a team to accompany me deep into the Gates of Hell."
Soon, Chutian's message was reposted, and some people began to show interest. However, no one was willing to accept the task.
When it came to matters of life and death, people tended to be cautious, as life was precious.
Back in his room, Chutian took out Level 1 Spirit Crystals and began to cultivate. Although his progress in advancing to A-level was slow, his Xuanxinjing technique was advancing rapidly. After more than a month of cultivation during his journey, he was about to break through to the third stage of the seven-stage Xuanxinjing technique. This breakthrough would greatly improve his mental power, affecting his two talents, psychokinesis and mental perception.
After a night of cultivation, Chutian woke up the next morning, and the five-tailed cat approached him, wagging its tails and rubbing against his legs.
Chutian crouched down and stroked the cat's soft black fur.
Just then, the innkeeper, Farid, came out from behind the counter and smiled, "Congratulations, three team leaders are interested in talking to you. You can set the time."
"Let's meet in an hour," Chutian said. He was eager to explore the Gates of Hell.
Farid nodded and confirmed the time.
An hour later, two men and a woman walked into the inn.
One of the men was Muketuo, the S-level talented martial artist Chutian had encountered before. The other man and the woman were both A+ level. The man's name was Sado, and the woman's name was Amina.
"I guessed it was your reward that was posted," Muketuo said and took a seat in front of Chutian. "Brother Lu, I want to advise you again to give up on going to the Gates of Hell."
"Muketuo, you've been to the Gates of Hell, so you must know that it's not necessarily a death trap, right?" Chutian asked with a smile.
"I've just been lucky," Muketuo shook his head.
At this point, Sado chimed in, "Muketuo is one of the strong people from our Kunlun Human Base. Surviving the Gates of Hell is a symbol of strength."
Chutian didn't immediately respond but looked around the inn's lobby.
Amina seemed to have noticed Chutian's thoughts and took out a thumb-sized metal ball from her pocket. She pressed it, and a red ripple emerged from the ball, forming a red barrier that enveloped the four of them.
