As Chu Tian entered the zoo, Biscuit was having breakfast, which consisted of a large bowl of milk-soaked cereal. The sight of it made Chu Tian chuckle, as it seemed to resemble human habits quite closely now.
Seeing Chu Tian approach, Biscuit gestured towards the seat in front of it and said, "Do you want some? Milk and cereal are hard to come by nowadays. Unlike you humans, we don't have the agricultural technology."
Chu Tian waved his hand in decline and took a seat across from the massive Alaskan. He nonchalantly retrieved a bottle of red wine and two glasses from his system space.
The wine was from the underground cellar, and Chu Tian had acquired quite a bit of it from Red Dress.
After finishing breakfast, Biscuit picked up the glass of wine that Chu Tian had poured for it and drank it in one gulp. Afterward, it commented, "My previous owner used to joke with me and gave me a taste of wine. Now, it doesn't taste as bad as I remember."
Hearing this, Chu Tian smiled and refilled Biscuit's glass. Then, he asked, "Is the reason you can't be friends with humans because they have been hurt by your curse talent?"
Biscuit grabbed the glass and, due to its mouth, couldn't savor the wine properly, so it downed it in one gulp. It then replied, "I have a cursed talent, and anyone who comes into contact with me tends to meet a tragic end."
Hearing this, Chu Tian said with a smile, "I have the ability to see the talents of Talent Users, and I can also see the talents on you. Furthermore, I have a talent that can suppress your curse talent."
Upon hearing this, Biscuit perked up and showed a glimmer of hope in its eyes.
"It's possible to do it. Would you let me try?" Chu Tian inquired.
Biscuit hesitated for a moment and then said, "Alright, you can give it a try."
Chu Tian nodded and used his talent to view all of Biscuit's talents. Then, he proceeded to have the system remove the "Cursed Descent" talent.
[Remove the talent "Cursed Descent" from the target. Cost: 1,000 Talent Points.]
The cost shocked Chu Tian; he hadn't expected it to consume a thousand Talent Points in one go. When he had initially obtained this talent, it had cost him just a little over a hundred Talent Points. However, Biscuit seemed to feel the changes in its body, even though the talent was passive.
"Alright, you won't have to worry about this talent anymore," Chu Tian said as he stood up and extended his hand towards Biscuit.
Biscuit was somewhat puzzled but extended its own paw to shake Chu Tian's hand. With a split-opened dog mouth, it smiled and said, "You know, we wolf people aren't humans, even though we have the word 'people' in our name."
"Although I can't make any special promises, I can assure you that you and your people can live normally in the human world. If there's an opportunity, I'll establish a base for my own kind," Chu Tian promised. He was the son of the mysterious Skysen family, after all, and although he didn't know the full extent of Cleasa's status within the family, it was apparent that she held some influence.
However, Chu Tian couldn't help but wonder if Cleasa was the City Lord of the Third Human Base. But since he couldn't confirm it, he decided not to speculate further.
Upon hearing Chu Tian's assurance, Biscuit hesitated. It seemed that it was unsure whether it should consider itself as a human or an animal. After all, it had been evolving towards human-like traits, such as upright walking, the emergence of finger-like bones in its paws, and even adopting human habits like eating, wearing clothes, and using weapons.
"Okay, but my people are numerous. Besides the usual fifty soldiers, there are over two hundred family members. I really want to help them integrate into the human world and have a better life, but this isn't something I can decide on my own. We'll need to discuss it within the clan," Biscuit said, expressing its hesitation. "You see, we've lived in this zoo for generations, and we face constant threats from dangerous beasts, not to mention the scarcity of resources."
At this point, Cleasa joined the conversation, speaking through the holographic projection on Chu Tian's communicator. She wore her guide uniform, displaying a professional smile that resembled flight attendants, which was not unlike her appearance in her previous life.
"I think my little brother is right; you seem like a good friend to him," Cleasa said, addressing Biscuit. "I'm Cleasa, his big sister. It's a pleasure to meet you."
Biscuit, who hadn't seen a holographic projection before, reached out instinctively and tried to touch the image of Cleasa. However, it only grasped thin air, which amused it. "This hologram looks even more realistic than those old-fashioned videos."
Hearing this, Cleasa chuckled and continued, "My little brother has a good heart. He believes you are a good friend, and he wants you and your people to survive in the human world. After all, you've become somewhat like humans now, haven't you?"
Biscuit hesitated once more, unsure of whether it should consider itself human or animal. It was apparent that this change had caused some internal conflict.
Cleasa assured Biscuit, "I can
