Chapter 81 - 81

Arriving at the mercenary base's spaceport, Chu Tian saw Kleysa nearby, enthusiastically persuading passersby to forge weapons and equipment.

Clearly, Kleysa was quite passionate about her side business.

"Kleysa," Chu Tian greeted her.

But Kleysa ignored him as if he was air.

Chu Tian then said with a smile, "Sis, I want to go to the Shore of Death."

"Hmm! Did you take a mission?" Kleysa asked indifferently, but then she looked up at Chu Tian with wide eyes. "What? You want to go to the Shore of Death? Do you know what kind of place that is? Who assigned you this mission? Isn't this sending you to your death?"

"I want to go on my own, no mission," Chu Tian said with a slight smile, noting that his friend still cared about him.

But Kleysa shook her head.

"No, you just advanced to a C-level talent warrior. Going to the Shore of Death is like seeking death. Do you know that the weakest beasts there are C-level?" Kleysa refused outright.

"I know you're concerned about me. Besides, don't you know my talents? If I can't beat them, I can run," Chu Tian said, looking at Kleysa with a pleading gaze.

Kleysa hesitated, knowing that missions to the Shore of Death were usually undertaken by A-level or at least B-level talent warriors. Chu Tian, who had just advanced to C-level, was clearly not qualified.

Moreover, Chu Tian was considered a potential future asset for Base No.3, and even his family had started paying attention to him. If something happened to him, it would be impossible to find another talent like Chu Tian.

The Skexen family had many outstanding young talents, but none of them were expected to reach the heights that Chu Tian could achieve.

Base No.3 was gradually being isolated by the Federation, and families from other regions had risen in power over the centuries, now rivaling the Skexen family.

After much thought, Kleysa finally said, "I can recommend other places for you. Just give up on the Shore of Death."

"Why?" Chu Tian knew that even as a C-level, he could survive in the Shore of Death as long as he didn't act recklessly.

"Human and beast talent warriors at the same C-level are always weaker than beasts. Humans are simply too fragile compared to beasts," Kleysa said, shaking her head in disagreement.

"I'll just stay on the outskirts, how about that?" Chu Tian assured her.

Finally, after a lot of persuasion and promises from Chu Tian, Kleysa reluctantly agreed.

Whether Chu Tian would keep his word was another matter.

The spacecraft slowly ascended and then flew off into the distance with a sonic boom.

The Shore of Death was originally a coastal town and one of the most prosperous trade coasts in the Huaxia region. However, with the resurgence of spiritual energy, awakened beasts from the sea attacked the city, turning it into ruins.

Over hundreds of years, the beasts here evolved, making it a place where ordinary humans could not survive. Even the weakest beasts in the Shore of Death had C-level strength, so it became a dead zone near Base No.3. Only B-level or above talent warriors usually took missions here.

Chu Tian stepped off the spacecraft, which then quickly ascended, returning like a cannonball.

However, fourteen days later, at 2 p.m., the spacecraft would come back to pick up Chu Tian.

Many mission points had spacecraft stations and flight bases, but the Shore of Death was too dangerous, and several bases had been destroyed by the beasts.

So, the Shore of Death only allowed for advance appointment times for pick-up. If one was unlucky enough to be killed by the beasts or missed the pick-up, they had to walk back to the base.

Chu Tian looked around; he was at an abandoned airport.

From here, he could see the nearly collapsing communication tower and the terminal building.

There were also some destroyed planes on the runway.

Chu Tian then headed towards the city area outside the apron.

Just after leaving, the soil in a nearby grassy area churned, and a worm-like creature peeked out, looking in the direction Chu Tian had left, before burrowing back into the ground.

With his psychic sense, Chu Tian could clearly see everything around him.

Although the airport was near the sea, he hadn't seen any C-level beasts around.

After killing a C-level beast, Chu Tian arrived at the airport expressway.

The road was littered with abandoned cars. Seeing the distant city, Chu Tian thought he should get a small mode of transportation, like a single-person board or a set of external skeletal armor.

Navigating through the abandoned vehicles, he held his scythe tightly to prevent sudden incidents.

But about ten kilometers from the airport, Chu Tian's psychic sense detected some movement nearby.
