Chapter 6 - People Of Different Status

Faced with everyone's eager and envious glances, Yu Weiwei smiled awkwardly, clearly at a loss.

Although she wanted to say that all of this had nothing to do with her, she couldn't find any evidence.

Moreover, she was the only one in the class who had awakened the ice talent.

Even she herself believed this fact.

After some more discussion, everyone returned to their seats, waiting for the next class.

But... very few were actually listening attentively.

These kids with uncertain futures were filled with confusion about what lay ahead.

At the window seat, Chu Tian clenched his fists.

He had already made his own plans.

As the bell rang again, the classroom quickly emptied, leaving only a few people still packing up.

Just as Chu Tian was about to leave, Yu Weiwei suddenly patted his hand.

The touch was light and soft... like an elusive cloud.

What stunned Chu Tian even more was the complex emotions in Yu Weiwei's beautiful eyes.

"Chu Tian, I'm leaving."

"Thank you for today, and for the three years as your desk mate. It was really nice."

"Do you really... need nothing from me?"

Sensing Yu Weiwei's sadness and helplessness, Chu Tian's heart trembled.

Past memories told him that he indeed had deep feelings for Yu Weiwei, but he never spoke up due to his inferiority complex.

But now, if Chu Tian remained silent...

It would truly become a thing of the past.

"Weiwei, actually I..."

Just as Chu Tian was about to say something, a knock sounded at the classroom door.

Looking towards the sound, he saw a man in a black uniform.

And his gaze was directed at Yu Weiwei.

"Miss, Mr. Yu sent me to pick you up."

"I know."

Yu Weiwei nodded, reluctantly picking up her backpack.

What she didn't tell Chu Tian was that after tonight, she would leave the school and go to Base Number One for further studies.

Otherwise, she wouldn't have said so much today.

As Yu Weiwei quickly walked to the door, Chu Tian finally spoke.

"Wait for me, I will definitely come to find you."

With these words, a brief silence fell in the classroom.

Yu Weiwei paused, her eyes unknowingly reddened, and she silently nodded her head.

The black-clothed man escorting her frowned inexplicably.

After watching Yu Weiwei leave, Chu Tian let out a self-deprecating laugh.

He didn't notice that the remaining few classmates were looking at him differently, their gazes mixed with mockery and cold laughter.

A person who hadn't awakened any talent, still dreaming of pursuing Yu Weiwei?

It was like a fool's dream.

But after all, they weren't fools, and they wouldn't point out anything, especially since graduation was near.

And perhaps... they might never see Chu Tian again, so why create animosity?

Chu Tian quietly packed up his backpack and hurriedly left the school.
