Because Lucas, who had been crying all night, said he didn't want to go to school. William and Amanda decided to keep Lucas at home until he felt better. At home, Lucas didn't watch television, play with his cell phone or draw. He kept hugging Amanda and burying his face into her chest.
This made Amanda feel sad too, but there was nothing she could do about it. Each of the parents of the three children who bullied Lucas seemed to blame the boy for what he had done.
William felt like a bad father, letting his son be in such a situation without knowing that he had been experiencing bad things all along.
'Lucas must not have told Amanda because he knew she was busy with his twin sister,' he thought.
He sat on the edge of his bed as he opened his gallery, looking at how Lucas smiled as usual. Until he came across a video he had recorded during a Father's Day at Lucas' school.
He pressed play on the video and saw Lucas standing in front of the class.
