Hermione's ears twitched as a faint rustling sound reached her, causing her eyebrows to furrow. She shared a quick, concerned look with Lloyd. "Did you hear that?" she whispered.
He nodded in response.
Lloyd carefully placed Hermione on the bed, but instead of settling down to sleep, they both remained on high alert. The noise they had heard seemed to be coming not just from downstairs, but from right outside the inn's door. It felt as though some kind of energy was approaching, causing an eerie tension to hang in the air.
