Lloyd dismounted his steed. He patted the horse gently as if communicating for it to stay in the same place and be a good boy.
He swiveled on his heels, heading in the direction of the young boy where he hadn't stopped walking.
Lloyd halted in place. His hazel eyes came to watch the boy bump into him before he retracted his steps and glanced upward to meet Lloyd's gaze.
The boy rubbed his puffy eyes with the back of his hand. He sniffled as he stood still gazing at the man before him.
