The carriage driver halted in front of the orphanage, and Zion descended the vehicle. He looked at the building towering over him with squinted eyes. He clutched the straps of his bags tightly against himself.
The carriage rode away, while Zion began to ascend the stairs that led to the iron gate. He could see two guards standing in position, each holding a long spear.
He arrived at the top shortly, coming to face the guards who looked ahead of them, feigning ignorance of his presence.
"Hello," Zion cleared his throat. "I was asked to drop something at the orphanage," He said. His eyes wandered from one guard to another.
He saw them glance at each other. "Who sent you?" They asked.
Zion swallowed. He answered their question without further delay. "My friend Cassius"
"We don't know him" They huffed and shifted their faces to their normal position.
He understood their plight, as this place needed to be secured properly.
