Chapter 3 - Adapting

I expected to struggle because of how big the sofa was, so I used a little more power.

But the result completely shocked me. The sofa didn't feel heavy at all; instead, it felt like a hollow box.

I walked over to the sofa, and as I gripped the sofa leg with one hand, I slowly lifted it up again, this time being extra careful.

The result was me waving it like it was a plastic sword; that's how light it felt.

"Oh my god, it had to be at least 100 kg."

Yet here I was, swinging the sofa around like it weighed nothing. Even the strongest man on earth couldn't do this.

This strength was not normal at all; this was superhuman strength.

I placed the sofa down on the ground again.

And as I looked at the glass shards on the ground,

"That was pretty loud, yet no one has checked in on me."

I guess that's the power of having status; even if I did something questionable, nobody would dare to check it.

But there was a problem.

If Rylan Ashencroft was a character that was supposed to get killed by the author, I only had one thought.

"It's possible to survive, right?"

I was just a 25-year-old who had just gotten a business degree and entered the workforce. I still had a lot of years left, so I didn't want to die an early death.

That's why I need to be extra careful, since I don't know anything about this world.

I walked over to the window, and as I looked outside, I noticed that I was high up in the air, as I had a very beautiful view of the city.

"This room is probably inside the castle."

Tonight was the princess's birthday, and I had room inside that very castle the party was held in.

What kind of status does Rylan Ashencroft have?

I imagine that it shouldn't be that easy to get a room here.

This was just a plus, since I could live a way nicer life here than on earth.

I could already imagine myself eating tasty food made by my own personal chef and having a bunch of servants inside a big mansion.

"I really hope he is rich."

For some reason, I was starting to get a little exhausted.

I remembered what the general-looking guy said, and he was right. For now, I need to rest.

I jumped on the king-sized bed.

With time, I will know what is going on, and this headache was making me very tired.

Slowly, I drifted to sleep.

*****

I tried to cover the light with my hands.

But in the end, the sun's bright light won over me.

'Remember to meet the king'.

Suddenly, that thought appeared in my mind, and I forced myself to wake up.

"How long did I sleep?" I said this while looking for a clock inside the room.

I finally found a big clock with Roman numerals that was on the wall behind me.

"XI, that must be 11."

I didn't know what time it was when I went to bed, but it must have been pretty late since I woke up at 11.

Getting out of bed, I stretched my body, and I noticed that I was very flexible.

I could do movements that only trained gymnasts could do.

At the same time, the urge to pee came, and I tried to look for the bathroom.

I found a golden door on the wall, next to a double door that was also golden, which I assumed to be the entrance and exit.

"There are a lot of golden things in this room."

This whole room was mixed with white and gold, and even the broken chandelier was golden.

I jumped over the glass shattered on the ground so I could reach the single golden door, which was probably the bathroom.

When I opened the golden door, I saw a bathroom that was made out of shiny marble.

"So it was a bathroom. But what is with this size?"

It was as big as my living room back on earth. This was truly a luxurious bathroom that only rich people would possess.

I walked over to the toilet to pee.

"Of course it's made out of gold, because if you had the money, why wouldn't you?" I said it sarcastically while unzipping my pants.

"Oh damn, that's a pretty good size."

After I finished peeing, I walked over to the sink, and I was surprised by my appearance.

Tan skin with fierce red pupils. I forgot for a second that I had possessed Rylan Ashencroft.

"Why is he so handsome, though?"

I tried to wash my hands, but my hoodie was on the way. As I took my hoodie off, I noticed the body that Rylan Ashencroft had.

six packs with toned muscles everywhere. It was like everywhere there could be muscle, there was muscle.

But he didn't have the body of a bodybuilder; this was more on the lean side.

Still, this was a body that almost everyone wanted to achieve, and I was now in possession of it.

"How did I even transmigrate into this body?"

I didn't really die in my previous world, so that couldn't be the reason. I only went to sleep, nothing else.

And I couldn't imagine Rylan dying since he was so strong, unless he got poisoned, which I highly doubt.

There is no way the author would kill Rylan Ashencroft by using poison.

That's way too uncreative.

After brushing my teeth, I walked back to my room while putting on my hoodie, and there was still shattered glass on the floor.

"Where is the room service?"

I know that this was probably not my castle, but why was there no assigned servant for me?

Unless Rylan specifically asked not to have one,

If that was the case, I shouldn't complain.

It could also be that maybe this world doesn't work that way.

The headache still didn't go away even after I woke up.

"I really hope this headache isn't permanent."

'Remember, the king wants to meet you'.

The general words appeared in my mind again. But there was one problem.

What time was I supposed to meet the king? And where was I even supposed to meet him?

"This is such a pain."

In the novels, when they possess a character, they also get their memories.

Yet here I was, with no idea what was going on. Honestly, other than his name, I really don't know anything about Rylan Ashencroft.

It felt like I was playing in nightmare mode.

Suddenly, I felt a little strange; it was like someone was approaching me from outside the room.

After I felt the presence reach the door,

Knocking.

I heard someone knock on the door.
