Chapter 5 - Hello Brother

"Oh, Goodness." Dalia screamed walking into the room.

Ariana's frail body was spread out on the cold floor with strands of her blonde hair sticking to the balls of sweat over her forehead.

"Bella! Bella!" She cried out pulling Ariana's limp body into her thighs, she pressed her fingers to her neck but felt a weak pulse.

She tapped on Ariana's cold cheeks severally, her eyes brimmed with unshed tears and her heart thumped painfully against her ribcage fearing the worst.

Ariana's eyes fluttered open connecting with Dalia's tear-filled ones, she shifted uncomfortably, feeling light-headed and weak "Ouch Dalia, I'm not dead."

"Oh my God Bella you scared me." She cried, hugging Ariana's body tighter to convince herself she hadn't lost her.

Ariana smiled weakly, leaning into her embrace. "I'm sorry, I just needed a glass of water, I guess I haven't fully recovered."

"Of course." Dalia mumbled sarcastically, biting back the thought of telling her she knew what happened last night.

The lewd moans and groans found their way to the maid quarters and the few maids discussed how impressive the young master truly is.

"I'm fine Dalia." Ariana responded with a weak smile, pointing towards the wheelchair across the room.

Dalia got up hastily and helped her madam into the wheelchair, No one could find out their secret at least not yet.

"Good morning." Ariana mumbled as Charles' long legs stalked into the dining room.

"Morning." He replied, anxiously shifting his collar to hide the love bites Sarah left deliberately the night before.

Ariana peeked at the man from the side of her eyes and anger flowed through her afresh like molten lava.

Her mind replayed the images of him bent over his mistress as if taunting her and her heart felt heavy again.

"I've been thinking about it." Ariana muttered with her head still bent over. "We should speed up the months for our own good, 2 months is enough."

Charles nodded slowly, getting up to leave the dining room. "That's better, I can't wait."

Ariana's fragile heart ripped even more into shreds this time at his heartless words, this man was truly a callous monster.

After Charles' departure, Ariana went into her room and opened an old-looking box that resembled a treasure chest.

The aged box had markings on it from its years of use and on the other side, there was a crayon writing that read out 'BELLA.'.

Although it appeared to be a plain child's box, it was secured with the highest technology in the city, it was unbreakable and had a passcode or voice security activator.

She dusted off the dust from it and cracked it open entering a passcode, the box revealed a fluffy little teddy bear and a cellphone which was turned off.

She pressed on the power button hopefully and it turned on, the phone's screen fluttered with a notification of 5000 messages from people she knew too well.

Her hand hovered over the only contact in the call log hesitant to call him but she tapped on the call button with her heart in her mouth.

After just a ring, the phone rang out with a surprised yet deep baritone voice. "Hello? Bella? Is that you?"

Ariana's eyes watered, gazing at the caller ID "Yes, brother."

Cole Corporation

"President Cole, I have new information on your wife." Luther rushed into the office with a mini tablet in his hand.

Charles, who was typing away on his computer, gazed up immediately. "Hmmm."

"She left the house just now and is on her way somewhere with her maid." Luther read out the message the spy that Charles employed sent.

He left the house feeling suspicious about her odd behavior, she seemed too calm and collected so he employed a private investigator to monitor her.

"Why do you bother to come tell me if you do not have full details?" Charles cursed, gritting his teeth in anger.

"I'm sorry sir." Luther shifted fearfully remembering the man's warning to inform him immediately if anything occurred.

"Send me her location." Charles wore his suit jacket and took his private elevator which he only used when he was late which was little to never.

He rushed into his car and turned on his phone receiving directions on where she was heading to.

Charles revered the car to life and drifted off at high speed only stopping when her car halted a few miles away from him.

He parked his car a bus stop away and flagged down a taxi in case she spotted him from afar

He turned around seeing the bright red dot on his phone in the center of the tall building, His eyes twitched when he read the sign above where she had walked into "Denver Hospital."

Those bastards sent him on a high-speed chase because she went to the hospital for leg therapy.

"Fucking bastards." He cursed underneath his breath facing no one in particular.

"Good Goddess Ariana." The woman covered her mouth in shock as she walked out of the hospital dressed in a lab coat indicating she was a doctor.

She appeared to be in her late twenties and her red hair was packed up in a ponytail and the thick-framed glasses gave her a standard professional look.

"Selene!" Ariana beamed, stretching out her hands as Dalia pushed her closer to the beautiful young woman.

Selene Meadow, a successful doctor and surgeon also one of Ariana's best friends. The two lost connection after college with Selene pursuing her career in medicine and surgery whilst Ariana chose to settle with Charles.

"You look so beautiful, Ari." Selene smiled pausing to gaze at Ariana, although thin she now appeared to be more mature and beautiful.

"Tell me the secret? Is it truly marriage after all? President Cole is so good to our Ariana."

Ariana's lips folded into a smile that didn't get to her eyes. "Oh Selene, You're too sweet, I don't look that good."

Selene's eyes darted to Dalia and her lips widened embracing the other woman tightly too. "Senior Mary, I missed you so much, We all missed you."

Dalia patted her back warmly, smiling at her back. "I missed you all too."

"So what brings you all here today? And what's with the wheelchair?"

Ariana's face turned serious, her eyes grave "I need your help, Selene."
