Chapter 130 - CHAPTER 126 LAST STAND

Leon walks towards the leaders, carrying with him the body of the drunk teacher. He stopped breathing for a short while, and even though this was already a forgone result, they tried their best to rescue him.

"Harold." One of the teachers seems to recognise the person Leon was carrying, and he immediately went and received the body. His eyes started tearing up, and a female teacher fell on her knees as tears streamed down her eyes. Surprisingly, this teacher was actually an elf.

"What happened?" The teacher carrying the lifeless body of his coworker asks with a deep voice. He is suppressing his anger and sadness; his eyes betrayed him though.

"I apologise; my friend here is mute; he cannot speak, but Lord Miracle Child and another teacher will be returning here in a short while; they can explain everything." Iron Captain hurriedly explains as he can sense the raging energy from the furious teacher.

The female teacher that Cleo had met already frowns after hearing this; she cannot help but ask.

"Why can't you explain then?"

Iron Captain smiles bitterly, but he still does not hide the embarrassing reaction of their group.

"There was a roar that came out from the genetic lifeforms' side; the entity behind the roar is so powerful that its psychic energy and mental pressure freeze the two teachers, but its main target was Lord Miracle Child."

The eyes of both Flare and Margaret constrict; they can sense the strength of the teachers, and they can sense a familiar suppression, just like the purple eagle. They cannot help but worry about their little brother's wellbeing.

Iron Captain does not know what is going through the heads of everyone present right now; he just continues on with his report.

"We are too weak to resist; we were knocked out by the mental pressure, and it was considered a leftover power at most. When we wake up, Sir Immortal and Lord Miracle Child's pet are carrying us back to the camp."

Everyone can hear that the Iron Captain was feeling guilty over their weakness. Just as the people are looking down on them for being dead weights, two individuals crash into the centre of the camp, throwing debris everywhere.

The teachers quickly reacted; they surrounded the crater of the crash, but when the dust and smoke settled down, they saw two individuals: a human and a golden monk.

"Enlightened Monkey!" The teacher carrying the body of the dead teacher shouted after seeing the golden monk. Upon hearing someone calling his titled name, the golden monk turned to the source of the voice. Seeing the person in the arms of the person calling him, his eyes started to actually tear up, and golden tears fell on his face.

"Cleo!" Both Flare and Margaret immediately fly beside their little brother; they can see that he is pale. What they do not know is that he has overused the special ability of his trait (hungry) to continuously use dragon flight in order to arrive as quickly as possible.

He is now suffering from the drawback of his trait; a sensation that can only be described as torturous is now assaulting his body and mind.

"Quick! Give him something to eat!" Just as the golden monk was wallowing in his tears, he hears the shout of the two girls and quickly recalls what Cleo said to him during their flight back here.

Everyone was stunned, but not Flare, Margaret, and the miracle group. They quickly ran in the direction of the stock room and brought a large amount of flesh with them. Flare used her ability to release fire out of her body to cook the meats as quickly as possible.

Cleo eats the food given to him like some sort of wild animal; a large pile of meat is devoured by him in just a matter of seconds.

Seeing that he is too busy stuffing himself up, the female teacher assigned to the Oriend family asks the golden monk instead.

"Enlightened Monkey, what happened?"

She knows just how close he is to the deceased teacher, which is why she is so confused as to why one of them was killed when the restriction is still present.

"An unknown presence exists in the midst of the tide of lifeforms; its strength is unfathomable, but I can confidently say that it is definitely higher than Supernatural Grade. It seems to notice the potential of this amazing young human that it actually orders five superior Supernaturals to make a move while it takes the restriction for them." The teachers are shocked by this; they know some crucial information about the Realm of the Thousand Worlds compared to everyone else present right now.

The restriction is something that no being should be capable of enduring, but to think that one of them said that it actually takes the deadly restriction for five superior Supernaturals is too shocking.

During the fight of the five superior supernaturals, this young man here killed one of them, and while we are shocked by the sudden event, one of those beasts used its supernatural ability to kill Harold."

As his words left his mouth, he could not help but punch the ground beneath him. His friend died an unjust death. He might have avenged him, but this will not bring him back.

Cleo finally sates his hunger and even gains a large amount of energy, all of them sent to his gene lock. He still does not know what would happen if he unlocked them, but according to the system, he would achieve something that even the mystical Gemstone of Life is not capable of achieving.

"The one that killed him was the same lifeform that attacked this camp and nearly killed me," he added after seeing the solemn expressions on everyone.

Flare was shocked; she could not help but ask.

"How can that be? I know that you are strong, but to think that you are capable of fighting against a lifeform that managed to kill one of the teachers of the academy!"

He shakes his head.

"No, it is not like that; the species of that purple eagle are born to master the power of wind and control the state of extreme speed. Unfortunately for it, I also possess an ability to counter its extreme speed; unless it has total control over its supernatural ability, it would be difficult to kill someone like me. Also, it only managed to kill the teacher because of the element of surprise."

The golden monk nods his head in agreement.

"That beast was killed by me in the end; it was unable to even leave a wound on my golden body. If it were not for the fact that Harold was in a state of shock and it's ability to increase its speed to a state where our mind is not that fast to react, it would be near impossible for it to deal any killing blow to him."

The female teacher sighs and says,.

"This is war, everyone; any moment of distraction can lead to your doom, no matter how short it is."

Enlightened Monkey clenched his fist after hearing this. He cannot return what she had said, but for her to actually use his dead friend as an example of such failure hits him deep in his heart.

Cleo quickly asks.

"Is there truly no hope for him to be revived?"

Enlightened Monkey looks at him and pats his shoulder before shaking his head. Cleo already knows just how fragile life is in this realm, but to see someone as strong as the drunk teacher who was killed makes him feel complicated.

Both he and Leon have an abnormal ability to recover; he can survive almost everything thrown at him, while the latter is a literal immortal entity as long as he is alive.

"Not everyone can be like you or your mute friend," said the female teacher. She knows just how many tribulations he encountered in this realm. The two of them earned their title because of their accomplishments and also their cockroach-like vitality.

He can only sigh. Calming his shaken mind, he decided to tell them about the incoming threat.

"Since Sir Iron Captain is present, I know that he has already reported about the incoming tide of liforms. I am here to inform everyone that the number of lifeforms outnumbers this stronghold, probably from three or even greater to one."

Everyone sucks in a cold breath after hearing such shocking news. Many cannot help but hesitate if they want to join this battle or not.

The head of the government's army frowns; he cannot help but glare at him. For him, such information is better hidden from the public in order to garner as much support as they can rather than dissuade many from joining their battle.

"I know that everyone is afraid of dying; I am too! It is not that I do not value your lives; if I truly think of it this way, I would not mention the oddity of our side, but! I am here to tell everyone that we are what is standing against those bloodthirsty monsters and our home world! Millions of our people and countrymen will die if we fail to defend this stronghold!"
