Chapter 69 - CHAPTER 66 THE MATCH ll

Seeing that there are no lower rankings present, Lilith finally asks what is on her mind.

"What is it that the two of you want from him?"

Yesha turns to her; she no longer has her smiling expression; she does not answer her, but she is determined to have Cleo under her, not because she wants to work for him or because of the reputation that they have currently, but because he would be the perfect disciple for their sect.

Their sect was once the strongest power in their world, but because of space travel and the number of races in this universe, their sect is losing its reputation and authority.

Most races that have humanoid forms have the same nerve points as ordinary human beings; unfortunately, for them, with the constant evolution brought by gene enhancement, the vulnerability of the nerve points started to weaken.

This spell trouble for their sect; for years, they were only relying on their ancient protectors; obtaining gene enhancement might increase one's lifespan, but obtaining them in the second realm and above is extremely difficult.

They are already dying, just as the successors and current elders are panicking. She actually found someone astonishing; it was Cleo.

He is capable of finding the nerve points with ease, not to mention that he can stimulate these nerve points without difficulty. She had been spying on him all of this time but did not find any extraordinary methods used.

This made her realise that he does not use any technique but is actually just a natural nerve striker. This caused her to become excited, and since finding this out, she has been trying to pair him up with as many top-rankers as she can.

The instant she discovered that he was still capable of stimulating the nerve points, even for those who had vastly greater genetic enhancement than him, she started planning on persuading or tricking him to enter their sect.

Unfortunately, her support still did not get back to her. She has requested help from them on roping Cleo to them, and she will not let anyone steal the treasure she has her eyes on.

Seeing that she was being ignored, Lilith frowns. She knows those of the higher numbers are quite proud, but she did not expect that she would blatantly ignore her even in the presence of her elder.

"I am his friend and was the person that introduced him to you; I am guilty in this matter; of course I would interfere." Unlike Yesha, Pure answers her with a "matter of fact" attitude.

In the ring, Aranold and Cleo heave a sigh of relief after escaping the tense meal; fortunately, the two of them can request a leave after this event; the two had already talked about what they were going to do after this.

"Stay sharp! We are facing a room much stronger than us! Also, need I remind you that only three of us are capable of fighting in this match?" Blake shouts like a commander.

Aranold ignores him; he knows that even with just him and Cleo, they are capable of winning, not because of his recent growth but because of the information he has gathered regarding their opponent.

Other than the long-haired race and the beastman race, the rest of the group is not even at the level of the bronze rankers.

"Blake, you take Aphu of the Beastman Race. I know that Xrat has too many advantages against you; leave him to Cleo. I will deal with the remaining two. I just hope that you two finish your opponents fast, or else I might go in a shocked and burning state," Aranold stated.

Cleo immediately agrees; seeing this, Blake also agrees with his plan. Meanwhile, Sophia was watching everything, not knowing what to do. He did not grow stronger during this time; he tried breaking through, but all this time, he ended up failing.

His race is not suitable for breaking through rapidly; it comes as no surprise that he would fail. Unfortunately, this causes Aranold and Blake to be dissatisfied with his performance, especially the former, who had always hated him and has been using this opportunity to insult him whenever he wanted.

As they prepare for their battle, the announcer calls up their room and room XZ14. The two rooms are considered the bottoms of the academy, and because of this, there are not many people watching their battle.

"Hey Aranold, do you think that we should accept the ranking challenge?" Sensing the aura from their opponents, Cleo quickly proposes.

Aranold shakes his head.

"That is against the academy's rule; unless one of us has become a bronze ranker, we are unable to initiate that."

Cleo can only sigh. I'm disappointed. Bronze rankers might be considered the lower class of top rankers, but they are still considered one of them.

Aranold and Blake are strong individuals, but they cannot confidently say that they can become bronze rankers.

Cleo can accept taking the ranking test, but he cannot last long with his meagre amount of genetic enhancement. He can fight like a top ranker for a short time and can even hurt silver rankers in a single burst, but this does not change the fact that he is incapable of fighting for an extended amount of time.

"Start!" The announcer shouts, causing the two groups to immediately charge at each other. The fastest was Cleo, whose figure seems to have disappeared in the eyes of their enemy.

Caught by surprise, the enemy's team starts checking their surroundings. Too bad for them. He had planned for this; he knows that his reputation was not so great in the past; he expected them to underestimate him and only focus on Blake and Sophia.

'Got You! ' Grabbing the neck of Xrat, he quickly punched him in his left chest. He had a customer who was also a member of the long-haired race; he knew that their weakness was on this side, so, when he heard who his target was, a plan was instantly formed in his head.
