Chapter 1 - Chapter 1:Outside World

May 12, 1899: The world in which all humans lived has encountered eras of politics, war, pandemics, and peace. The world that all humans tried to protect was destroyed after a mysterious asteroid hit the Earth. Everything changes, and humans are more terrified now than they were in old history. Now, this new era where all the children, teenagers, and adults need to be trained to become soldiers fighting the terrifying, dangerous monster outside. The new era has come.

It was December 15th, 3900. Dark and dangerous was the word they used to describe the outside world. We are all in an underground bunker; this is our new home in this era, which protects us from the outside. Alessia Florestia was a small, timid girl. Everyone loved her because of her silky, shiny white hair and smooth, milky skin, like her mother, Marioneth Florestia. That year was the most important day for Alessia's mother. It was her 34th birthday. Alessia's mom was the most beautiful woman she knew; her mother said that she was the happiest woman, and Alessia, as her daughter, was enough for her birthday. But Alessia noticed that her mother was somewhat disappointed. Alessia looked around to find her father, Giovanni Florestia. But her father was nowhere to be found at her mother's birthday party. Alessia knew that her mother was brokenhearted, even though she keeps smiling like she is the happiest woman. Alessia was so sad for her mother. Until Alessia got an idea. Alessia wants to give her a special gift that her mother has never had before. Allessia loves reading books like history, novels, research, fairy tale book and more. There was this flower Alessia found in a history book before. It was a white carnation flower. The white carnation, a serene marvel, whispers elegance with its soft petals and slender form, embodying simplicity in its purest and most beautiful form. That flower was the perfect gift for her mom, and she knew that she would love it.

Alessia did some research on where she could get or find white carnations. It was not easy for her to find this flower, even in a flower shop or flower bouquet. It's either sold out or they don't sell it here anymore. But Alessia knows that there is another way she can find a white carnation flower; it is outside the underground bunker. But Alessia knew that it was too dangerous outside, and there was no way she could go outside alone. Alessia was so sad and couldn't do anything but cry all day in her room. Until she saw her old fairy tale book on her desk, filled with other old fairy tale books Alessia had. The fairy tale book that she picked up was about a boy who would go on a dangerous adventure to find the chocolate that her lover dreamed of tasting. Because of that book, she decided that she would go outside and find the white carnation flower for her mother.

It was December 17th, 3900. cold, freezing weather. Alessia has no mood to move, to prepare her things, or to go outside because of the cold weather. Alessia tried her best to get up and prepare her things. After 30 minutes, Alessia was still soundly sleeping in her bed. Alessia's mother knocked on her door. Her mother opened the door and saw Alessia still soundly sleeping.

"Oh my, Alessia, it's already noon, and you're still sleeping."

"Oh... hello, mother, forgive me because of the weather. I feel a little... heavy," she said with a wavering voice.

Marioneth, Alessia's mother, walked closer to her and sat beside Alessia. Alessia's mother slowly put her hand in Alessia's face. She hugged her tightly and gave Alessia a kiss on the head. Alessia felt the warmth, love, and embrace of her mother. Alessia sunddenly hugged her mother tighly too. That was the moment when Alessia really decided to find the flower for her mother, to make her mother happy.

Alessia prepared her bag after she ate lunch, she had fun eating her lunch since her mother was good at cooking. Alessia wears her favorite blue jacket with a cat symbol on the back of it, a black pant, and blue shoes. Alessia really loves blue; even her bedroom was filled with blue furniture and toys. December 18th, 3900, midnight, everyone is sleeping, and the surroundings are quiet and a little dark, but Alessia is ready and prepared. Alessia sneaks out of their house and avoids all the security. Alessia was quiet since all the guards were sleeping. She finally arrived at the front gate of the underground bunker. The gate was big and tall. Alessia touched the gate and felt how strong and hard the gate was. All of a sudden, she felt terrified, but she had already made up her mind and decided that she would find the white carnation flower for her mother.

Marioneth suddenly woke up and looked beside her bed. Marioneth smiled; she was happy that her husband was beside her. She kisses her husband's head, gets up, and goes to the kitchen. She drank some water and noticed that the front door was open. She stared at the door.

"Why was the front door open? I was sure I locked it before going to bed," Marioneth thought.

Marioneth gasped and ran to her daughter's bedroom. She shouted her daughter's name, "Alessia!"

Alessia was not in her room. Marioneth wore her jacket and ran outside to find Alessia.

Meanwhile, Alessia looked around to find the switch to open the gate to the underground bunker. She found the switch and breathed deeply. She opened the gate and saw beautiful trees and plants outside the bunker. It was bright daylight, and she could feel the warmth of the sun on her skin, but Alessia got curious that, for some reason, it was not dark outside even though it's midnight. But Alessia ignored it and walked through the warning line. She got nervous, but she smiled, lifted her head, and kept walking.

Above Alessia's head, a big shadow is above her; she stops walking and can't move. Alessia can feel the stares that she never felt before; she was terrified and trembling. She looked back at the gate of the underground bunker. Alessia is not that far from the gate.

"I should run; the gate was not that far," she said in her thoughts.

Alessia slowly looks up.Ā

Alessia slowly looks up above her. Her body suddenly gave up; she fell to the ground, and she started trembling and crying. The terror in her face was well painted.

She can't look away.

She saw an amonstrous body with a piercing crimson eye; she could feel the fear in its presence.

"Someone, please help me!" Alessia said while trembling.

A big, terrifying hand grabbed and took Alessia. It had a wide, big mouth, sharp teeth, and a long tongue. The monster opened its mouth, ready to eat Alessia.

"I'm sorry, mother; I couldn't make you happier." she said while losing hope.

"Mother, I love you." tears falling in her eyes.

Ā A large, sharp, and shining object tore through the heart of the monster.

Alessia was stunned and shocked. She got covered in blood and fell to the ground. The monster was not alive anymore. Suddenly, Alessia saw a human child's body with a large, sharp, shining skin on its right hand that killed the terrifying monster. Alessia and a human child were staring at each other. In their gaze, a magnetic allure beckons, an intensity that speaks of unspoken desires, as if the windows to their soul reveal a silent longing for connection. Alessia stands up and walks closer to the human child. The child's right hand goes back to a normal human body. But suddenly, the monster hand on the ground moved toward Alessia's heart.

The human child's move's fast; it's large hand tried to block the attack of the monster. A beautiful red blood was dripping to the ground and threw up a large amount of blood. The human child saw the tears falling on Alessia's face. The attack of the monster went through the human child's large hand, and she couldn't block the sudden attack.

Marioneth, the mother of Alessia, protects her daughter.

"Mother, why? No, no, no, I'm sorry," Alessia shouted while crying.

"Alessia, are you okay?... Did you get hurt?" Marioneth's trembling voice.

"I'm sorry, your mother... I can't go to your birthday next year." Weak and trembling voice.

Marioneth slowly touches her daughter's face. "I love you so much... Alessia," she said with a wavering, fading voice.

Marioneth fell on her daughter's shoulder.

Alessia watched the human child kill the monster again and again. While Alessia was hugging and holding her, while Marioneth was slowly dying. Alessia didn't leave beside her mother and hug her tighly. She can hear all the sounds fading of all the soldiers coming closer to rescue them until she passed out.

...December 18th, 3900, death of Marioneth Florestia

It was December 25th, 3900. Today was Christmas, and everyone is celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. Today's the day that I'm supposed to give my mother her special gift from me, but I can't do that anymore. "I couldn't make my mother the happiest and most proud."

Giovanni Florestia, fourty-eight years old, is the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) and the Prime Minister of the underground bunker. Giovanni Florestia has protected the bunker since 3860. Giovanni Florestia is one of the heroes in the underground bunker who almost died just to protect us from terror. He is also Alessia's Florestia father and husband of Marioneth Florestia. (December 25th, 7:00 a.m.) Giovanni is now busy in his office doing some important paper work. (December 25th, 11:00 a.m.) Giovanni is now training his soldiers before the party of the president. (December 25th, 11:00 p.m.) Giovanni went home late again today. He went to the kitchen and took a bottle of wine. In the living room, Giovanni saw his daughter sleeping on the couch, hugging her mother's favorite white jacket. Giovanni walked closer to Alessia and gave her a blanket. Giovanni saw Alessia's tears falling while calling her mother in her sleep. Giovanni closed his eye to stop his tears from falling, kissed Alessia's forehead, and went to his bedroom. Giovanni opened the cabinet, took his wife's clothes, and hugged them. He could smell his wife, so he started crying in sorrow and fell to the ground. A sudden knock on the door made Giovanni wipe his tears and look back. The one who knocked on the door was Alessia.

"Father, I'm sorry; it was my fault that mother died," Alessia said with a trembling, sad voice.

Giovanni stood up and ran towards Alessia. He hugged his daughter tightly when Alessia was about to burst into tears.

"It's not your fault, Alessia; don't blame yourself," Giovanni said with a deep voice, comforting Alessia and acting strong for his daughter.

Alessia burst into tears, hugging his father tigly. Until his father started busting into tears, they stayed in that position for an hour.

(December 26th, 3900, 6:00 a.m.) Alessia woke up and smelled a breakfast meal her mother used to cook in the morning. Alessia gets up quickly and goes to the kitchen. Alessia expects that it must be her mother, but it was her father cooking a breakfast meal. They both say good morning to each other awkwardly. Giovanni told Alessia to sit down and eat breakfast together. Alessia sits, thinking that this is the first time she has had breakfast with her father. Alessia remembered the little human child she saw outside the bunker.

"Father, the little girl with me and my mother outside the bunker on that day, do you know what happened to her?" Alessia asked with curiosity and a worried face.

Giovanni stopped eating and looked into his daughter's eyes with a serious expression.

"That monster is not human; it's a monster; we will exterminate her this weekend!" Giovannani said with a terrifying voice of seriousness.

Alessia looked down, trembling because of her father. She remembers that day; she felt something that she had never felt before in a person. The desire to see her againā€”that's what was on Alessia's mind right now. Alessia stood up and looked her father in the eye with a serious and determined face.

"I want to see her father; I want to thank her."

"She saved my life after all," Alessia said with strong and serious eyes.
