"You are to try and cast the Lipid spell." W's hand stretched out and to Fria's eyes, out of thin air, a small water oval shaped arrow head materialised in front of her palm and hovered. Creating the subtle sounds of waves.
Then, slowly, the arrow head rotated round and round before blasting toward the target with a swissh.
As Enix and Fria watched in rapt, just as it was about to collide, the arrow-head vanished.
"Eh?"
"Hahaha! I canceled the spell before it hit the mark." She grinned and pushed out her chest, "Who would like to try first?"
A jolt ran down the two's spine, and their head flung toward each other— assessing the other's thoughts through their eyes.
With a broad grin, Fria staggered forward, "Let me have a go at it."
Enix crossed his arms and drooped his eyelids, 'That spell... it's quite easy to cast from what I saw.' His sight fell atop Fria.
Her small hand stretched out, fingers arching onwards, and her small face cramped in tension.
Beads of sweat curved down her puffy cheek, and, in Enix's eyes, he saw the same, ethereal magical blue particles dance in and out of her arm as he saw in W's.
Albeit terribly more chaotic.
A small wobbly blob started to rotate in front of her palm, before, with a pa, it exploded. Leaving nothing behind of its prescene.
"Marvelous!" W's face beamed. Her eyes sparkling enthusiastically, just less than her thundering claps.
"Certainly a genius! No ordinary person can achieve what you did on their first attempt. All you need is a push from me and you will be all set." She chuckled, imagining herself teaching this genius and marvelling at her to-be feets.
"Now then, you want to go next, Enix?"
Enix's eyes fell atop W, he could tell the chiming delight in her voice had faded. As if bordering her expectation of the two.
"Hmm!" With a pat, Fria gave way to Enix with a smile, "Stay chill. It'll be fine."
As he eased his breath, and suspended his hand, a sweet, rich scent barged into his nose. Followed by a hand gently pushing into his back.
"I will help you, so relax your nerves and concentrate." W. muttered behind him.
As her fingers dug into his back, he couldn't help but greedily sniff, 'Aw! Elves really are something else.'
He bit his lips, 'Concentrate, concentrate! Shit! Not on the scent. Concentrate on the magic stupid brain!'
From the tips of her fingers, something felt to peek inside him, and goaded something that lay turbulent yet slumbering within.
The image of the traces he noticed when W cast the spell flashed in his eyes. And, with deep frowns gilded by sweat, he tried to replicate it.
"Hmm! Pour your all into it!" W. smiled, sensing a positive feedback.
"Wait!" The cup crisply struck down on the ceramic tea-plate, shattering it in two as Mugam jolted to her feet.
Someone seemed to suck the colors out of her cheeks, leaving them as hollow husks, "What is this? This magic power? She... She will kill him!"
'Pour your all, eh?' Enix's eyes sealed shut as he concentrated.
Intricate blue streaks passed through the darkness wreathing him, and he chased after them with his all.
'More... more! Try harder. Try better! Refine, perfect! More... pour more!'
"Huh? What's this coldn–" W's eyes, closed in focus, fluttered open. And slowly, her jaw slackened.
"What in the name of... is this?"
Her eyes shot wider each second the terrifying mass of wobbling water enlargened in front of Enix.
It grew and grew, rapidly, until it became enough to swallow a hundred of Ws inside.
"E-Enix, s-stop this!"
"Huh? What did you say?" Enix's eyes trembled open, and froze shortly seeing the growing water nuke in front of him, "WHOA!!!WHAT'S THIS?"
"CALM DOWN! CANCEL THE SPELL! DON'T ACTIVATE IT!!"
"ACTIVATE? WHAT ACTIVATE?"
"DON'T LAUNCH IT!"
"WHAT LAUNCH??!!"
"DON'T SAY LIPID YOU FOOL!"
"LIPID!?"
"..."
The glittering links connecting his hand to the blob shattered in front of his eyes. And some ghastly power, creeping out from right in front of him, made him suck his breath— instinctively terrified at provoking it.
"Oh... damn!" W's eyes hovered atop the gigantic ball, quivering subtly, in awe and in dread.
With a gentle ripple, it stirred, before with a harrowing rustle, it boomed off.
Flinging Enix screaming into W and shooting off into the distance behind.
Fria, clueless to everything transpiring, found herself battering into the ground like a ball, before succumbing to the darkness in Gruis's arms.
"Curse you!" Mugam's eyes daggered into W as she stumbled to her feet, staring at the destruction paved around with a shiver, "Curse you!"
With a crisp pa, she shook off the attendant's hand and stomped over toward her.
"You damned wench!"
Enix's vision wobbled in circles. Mugam's voice, filtered meek and distorted through his ringing ears, struck at times like a blacksmith's hammer and at times, like a small splash made by a pebble.
"I will scorch you till not even ashes remain!!"
As Enix's head weakly tilted sideways, he saw Mugam's silhouette, drowned wholly by raging and malicious red aura swarming and bustling in life.
Her eyes felt like some vicious blade, her face churned into a frightful, bloodthirsty carnivore's.
Her hand shot out like a viper and bit into W's neck. It sparked, flickered from time to time, like the smoldering from some heated collisions, in ghastly crimson flames stained in blood.
"Madam!" Gruis called out from behind, his head lowered, "Please..."
"Out of my sight," Mugam let go, her hand crisply slapping across her face, "Get her out of my sight... or I will... get her out of my sight!" She snarled, her eyes shimmering, her body dancing in condensed flames skulking in and out of her body.
Gruis bowed and quickly dragged her away.
And Mugam slowly, timidly, dragged her feet to Enix. And, braving her tears, collapsed on her knees and drapped him in her arms.
"Enix... My Enix... what kind of a mother am I? Despite all I try, I fail to protect you.
"Oh... my Enix!"
