"How mindful of you to come for a visit!"
Enix nodded.
"Look at you, all brand and new!"
Enix nodded again.
"Did you bring souvenirs?"
Enix shook his head. Before taking a deep breath and shouting so terribly loud in his head that he ended up murmuring it aloud, "HOW DID I DIE NOW?!"
"..." "..." "..."
"Hahahaha!" MM reclined back in her chair, clutching her belly as she laughed aloud at his beet red face.
"You are too weak," Vellord scoffed.
"You didn't die." J. smiled.
"I sensed a special signal, some other entity had been trying to reach out to you for some reason, but I intercepted the signal and allowed you to come here." He explained.
"Oh... so I haven't died yet?" Enix paused, staring at his odd body.
Odd in the senses that it was wholly odd!
He could see from the messy hair falling down in front of his eye that his hair style was the same as Enix, but the color belonged to Fero.
Same for his eyes, there was a slight difference in color perception in his eyes.
Then his feet were tall and long, unshaven, like Fero's. While his arms were terribly small, barely reaching his waist, which he took to be Enix's.
"What terribly hideous form is this?" Enix stared down at his body.
But J. brushed him off, "We don't have time to squander... we can't keep you for long so we will get into what we want to say."
"First of all–" J. started, but Vellord completed his words for him, "Get stronger."
"..." J. coughed dryly and nodded, "Yes. Second–"
"Get even stronger." Vellord growled.
MM suppressed a chuckle.
J.'s green eyes turned darkish red, and he stared straight into Vellord eyes barely visible as two darker slits on his face, "May I start now?"
Vellord, jerking slightly, coughed and nodded.
"Third, last time we didn't have much things to discuss due to some emergency. So we will have to cover those now."
"Mainly, the thing you would be most curious off, why were you reincarnated into the world you were reborn in.
J. peered into his eyes, "The answer is that we need you to grow enough in power that you can be omnipotent on that planet. Simple right?"
Enix's lips pressed tight, "How audacious to propose to me to get stronger while having me reincarnate as some premature kid that has been riddled by weaknesses."
J. shrugged, "That's none of our business... nor our doing. The reincarnation is random... you could've reincarnated anywhere in any form. The fact you are still a human is a blessing... for you I think."
Enix eye's squinted, "Meaning you risked me turning into some ant... or some caterpillar... or something?"
"We risked you being born as an angel, or as a devil, or as a dragon, or as a king..." J. scoffed.
'He seems rather edged today...' Enix muttered in his head. Making J. pause and contemplate on his words.
"And why do you need me to be that strong? What do you seek?" Enix's eyes passed all three.
J. adjusted his white gloves and replied, not gazing at him, "We need you to kill someone."
"...Whom?"
"Another person like you..."
"A premature child!?" Enix exclaimed.
"Noo!" MM gasped, "A reincarnator like you! A Herald!"
Enix's complexion darkened, "Absurd... how can I kill a reincarnator handicapped as I am? That person would surely have some cheat too... he may be born as a king... or a dragon... how can I kill him with no talent and riddled with limitations?"
"You are forgetting... you have a cheat too." MM stared into his eyes, her lips curling meaningfully.
"...A cheat I am incapable of using with my body." Enix rolled his eyes.
"We never asked you to kill that person right away... not like you could right now either. You have time... time until someone reaches the omnipotent stage... and remember, if the one to become omnipotent is not you. You will die... terrifyingly." J. crossed his arms, easing on his words.
"Is that a threat?" Enix blankly stared at them.
"No," J. shook his head, "It's a fact. We won't kill you... but the fact is... just the way you are set out to kill the opposition. The opposition is out for you too. Their goal is simple... to become omnipotent before you."
Enix's teeth grinded, "Perfect! Just the icing I needed on the cake."
"Really? Which flavour is it?" MM licked her lips, her eyes wandering the table.
"White... I mean glucose." Enix cleared his throat and turned towards J., "So it's a race for some unknown reason with the goal of becoming omnipotent before—"
"Unidentified... The person is unidentified. He could be a she. She could be a he. They could be a devil. They could be a dragon. We have no clue..."
Enix heaved a sigh, "Are you some eccentric game developers throwing in some game without any context to amuse yourself?"
Suddenly, the expression of the three turned serious, "Not at all... many grave things are at stack."
Vellord spoke, his tone dull and reminiscing, "You are our key to hope. So get stronger... and don't lose. Get way, way stronger."
Enix froze before nodding, "I will try."
J.'s head turned to the side, and his expression loosened as he stared into the distance, "It's time to part."
Enix nodded, "Thank you... I will do my best."
MM chuckled, and scoffing while faking anger, forced in a gruff voice, "Try and get stronger, find a means to recover from whatever problem you have... we are unable to interfere in your world in any way. So be careful.
"And if you find a way around it... I might have some reward for you." She licked her lips slowly, drooping her pretense at the last of her words.
Enix felt his heart stir, and with a firm nod, he resolved, "Even if it kills me... since I can still get the reward!"
"Hmm. Get stronger." Vellord nodded.
And suddenly, Vellord's erupting darkness gnawed him whole. And snapped out his consciousness.
