Not wanting to cause a scene, Victoria moved aside to allow her old friend to perform her duties before her. She was not even here to find out any rumours or gossip about Kate; she was just here to trade a small necklace. Victoria did not have time for it.
"Kate, you do not need to have been so impolite. Victoria was merely concerned. The woman who had escorted Victoria to the jewellery exchange was offended by Kate's treatment of her friend, as if they were trash or some group of jobless gossipers. In terms of social standing, the Sui's were superior to them in the society, but that did not mean they were not important either.
"That is why you should always mind your own business." Kate replied, waving them off. It is not her intention to spend the entire day in here; she cannot waste her time with two local women who are both beneath her feet.
