Chapter 268 - Chapter 268 : New Wand

Orion stood at the entrance of Hogwarts, the majestic castle looming behind him. He glanced at Dumbledore, who was adjusting his half-moon spectacles, a little smile on his face which was Irritating Orion.

Orion didn't want this to happen but ultimately he had no other way. Not to mention, he too has to believe that having Dumbledore with him might be more useful than Merlin back then.

The reason they were standing there like this was becuase Orion needed a new wand and to check out his blood lineage in Gringotts.

At first, Orion didn't want to. Why waste money on buying something which he gonna throw in his storage space after the tournament anyway? It's not like he can't just make a fake wand and act like he has one in a tournament. But no, there is a fancy ceremony regarding wand testing.

Why would they even have something like that in the first place? He had no idea but ultimately to participate he had to get a wand.

'If this time that old man didn't give me something decent then Olivanders line ends today.' Orion was irritated as usual. Though his mental fatigue was less now but not when it came to his irritation.

Then there was the matter with his blood. This was another thing which was making him irritated. He wanted to know about his lineage. Why the hell did he even have the Ambrosius name in the first place? He really really wanted to know.

But only him, not others.

But now Dumbledore will know. He had half a mind to stop Dumbledore but its doesn't matter. Anyone with a decent understanding of how the system works here will know that even if he wants to keep his real identity hidden away, those who give the right price will get the info, one way or another.

Orion wasn't an idiot to believe in those goblins.

At least Dumbledore's being there could help him out when it comes to spreading the matter. If nothing then delay the matter from being known. Because later he learns from Dumbledore that even the ministry wants to know about his lineage.

This was an issue, one which he didn't want to deal with but ultimately he has to. If not now then maybe later.

"Sigh."

Though the thought of dealing with formalities irritated him but he understood the importance of fitting into the traditional structures of the wizarding world for the tournament. More than anything, that will be less troublesome.

"You ready," Dumbledore asked as he was about to apparate away to the Diagon alley.

Knowing what Dumbledore was thinking, he immediately made the distance, he already had a headache, and using an apparition on top of that would be like sprinkling oil on the fire.

"Yeah, let me handle that," Orion replied as he slowly raised his hand and rotated it only for a portal to open up in the air in front of both him and Dumbledore.

Seeing this Dumbledore's eyes widen.

"Oh, seems like I'm still not giving you enough credit. You are more capable than I anticipated." Dumbledore's eyes were twinkling as he studied the portal. The portal opens the space right in front of the space of the entrance of Diagon Alley.

Dumbledore was able to see the wall which is the gate of the Diagon alley and has to say that he was impressed. This also gave him some understanding to what kind of Law Orion might have mastered.

As they arrived at Diagon Alley, the bustling street full of witches and wizards going about their business, Orion couldn't help but feel a slight pang of nostalgia. It had been a while since he last visited. The chatter, the colourful shops, and the magical atmosphere had a way of making even the most seasoned wizard feel a sense of wonder.

Their first stop was Ollivanders. Orion made a Bee Line to that shop, not stopping anywhere in between. One reason that he didn't want to waste time and another being it was noisy out on the alley. And while Orion came here, Dumbledore directly went to Gringotts. He needs to talk a little with those Goblins.

The bell above the door jingled as they entered, and Mr Ollivander himself appeared from the back, his eyes lighting up at the sight of them.

"Ah, Mr Ambrosius, Oakwood and 'BOWTRUCKLE' core," Ollivander said, his voice filled with curiosity. But immediately after hearing what kind of worthless wand he went the last time he came here in this shop, Orion frowns.

"Yeah, that last wand. Well, that ain't cutting it anymore. Need something better now." Orion immediately said.

"I've been expecting you, Dumbledore told me that I could expect you sometime soon. A wand is a very personal object, you know and I believe that now is the best time for you to get a good wand for yourself. Let's find the perfect match for you."

Orion just nodded at this. He just needed something which would work for him. Its hardly that he's gonna use it outside the tournament anyway.

Ollivander began pulling various wands from the shelves, each more unique than the last. Orion tried a few, but none seemed to resonate with him.

By just a touch, they start vibrating. And Orion was sure that if only he put a little more magic in them, he would have a magical C4 in his hand.

Olivander saw this and shook his head.

"A troublesome customer you have remain Mr Ambrosius. But I presume this time the trouble is more happy to have than the last time. Unlike last time, when no other wand was accepting you becuase of low magical power. Now, they are rejecting you because they can't bare your huge magical power."

Olivander said with a little emotional tone on his face. Orion was having a hard time understanding what Olivander was thinking. But his surprise face of his was hard to miss.

Maybe it was his age and experience of him that kept him outright for the sudden increase in power.

Olivander thought a little and brought a few more boxes but none of the wands after that worked.

"Troublesome indeed."

Olivander sighs but then he looks at Orion. In his eyes, there was a hidden light, like he was thinking about something.

"Seems like the trend of getting a special wand continues with you, Mr Ambrosius. I am afraid that nothing here I have will work for you.

But...

I have something which might work." Olivander said and went inside. Confusing Orion.

"Elder Wood and Thunderbird feather, twelve and a half inches, very powerful !," Ollivander announced. As soon as Orion held it, he felt a surge of power, and a shower of sparks erupted from the tip.

Blink blink.

Orion felt that his power was moving inside the wand and it was handling it.

"Excellent," Ollivander said, smiling.

"Well Do." Orion smirked as he for the first time felt a good wand in his hand.

"That wand was crafted by my ancestor. It's been 600 years since so one has been able to use it. It accepts no one. But the strongest. It's surprising that it finally met his master today. Sigh, such the fate works." Olivander looked nostalgic.

'The strongest huh ?' A smile appears on Orion's face.

"How much ?"

"Nah, take it, lad. That wand been with my family for 600 years. It would be a crime to charge for it when finally the greatest work of my family got its owner." Olivander said with a genuine smile.

Orion hearing this nodded. He wanted to pay but he knew that old men are stoburn in things like this. He rather reply to the man in some other way.

With the wand purchase complete, Orion made their way to Gringotts, the wizarding bank. The imposing building which he remember looting not so long ago, with its white marble facade and goblin guards, Orion just had a smile on his face. 'Good Times.'

"Mr. Ambrosius, we need to confirm your blood lineage for the tournament," the goblin said, laying out a parchment and a quill. Orion after looking at Dumbledore who long gave him a little nod, pricked his finger, letting a drop of blood fall onto the parchment.

Orion stood there waiting for the response. Dumbledore seems to be the same. As the paper reveals the name. Both Orion and Dumbledore had wide mouths.

"FUCK...
