Chapter 141 - Chapter 141 : Dumbledore And A Thief 2

As I apparated to the US Ministry of Magic, the urgency of the situation weighed heavily on my mind.

And yes I apparated, never told others but I could do that since maybe a few years after I graduated from Hogwarts.

And no not talking about Apparating magic but the distance I cover. It's not easy you know, covering that kind of distance. If only everyone could wave there hands and a teleportation portal would open in front of them.

I can only wonder what other magical communities would say if they knew that one of the strongest wizards can appear in there country without any restriction at any time and they can't stop him, I can't help but a little smirk appear on my face whenever I think about it.

The recent events in Diagon Alley had sent shockwaves through the pure blood wizarding families, to the point that they were out for blood for anyone who could have done this, none more than Malfoy, and now, another robbery in the United States only added to the growing sense of unease.

For the time being, they are too occupied with hunting Vampires. Fortunately or unfortunately, Auror found traces of Vampires when the attack in Diagon Alley happened.

All the purebloods are now after the blood of those bloodsuckers. I don't pity them at all, they are no noble creatures like some of the muggle fantasy make them out to be.

And once again the person who was ready to raise his wand at those vampires was none other than Malfoy. The man's whole being by now is being wealthy, suck to be him that he is just as much as poor as any other of his fellow pure blood.

If this wasn't as serious of a case then I would love to visit him just to see him grinding his teeth to oblivion.

Upon my arrival, I was met with anxious faces and hurried whispers as officials briefed me on the details of the incident. The similarities to the thefts in Britain were there but this time around, there was a magical trace.

How?

Why would one person who can hide his trace so well didn't do it again here?

The gravity of the situation was palpable as I listened intently, my mind already racing to connect the dots between the two seemingly disparate events. The notion that these robberies were connected was impossible to ignore, yet there was something inside my mind telling me that that wasn't the case.

With a solemn nod, I pledged my assistance to the US Ministry, I didn't have to and there is no one dared to force me, they knew better but this time the pressure was not just from one ministry but two. They still can't do anything if I refuse to help out but that will lead to them not supporting me when some idiot pure-blood puts out another blood supremacy rule or try to suppress the muggle-born.

Offering whatever aid and expertise I could provide in their investigation. It was clear that unravelling the mystery behind these robberies would require a concerted effort. I was also worried about that boy Orion.

Before coming I talked with him a little, nothing extreme after Newt told him how his Qilin bowed to the boy. That is enough to tell the boy is not doing anything shady right, I mean the wizarding world used to give the witches or wizards their entire kingdom to rule if that animal bowed them. In comparison, my trust in the boy shouldn't be that big of a deal.

Stepping out into the bustling corridors of the US Ministry, I couldn't help but feel a sense of determination coursing through my veins. The challenge, after so many years, that I am kinda looking forward to it.

Maybe this has something to do with duelling with another powerful mage...

I didn't tell others but the magic I traced was terrible. Dark to the core. I know that no weak wizard can leave that kind of magical trace behind. Whoever has done this, has to be a very powerful witch or wizard.

(Sometime Later)

As I entered the dilapidated building, my senses were heightened, alert to the presence of danger lurking in the shadows. The dim light cast eerie shadows on the walls, adding to the sense of foreboding that hung in the air.

I could sense it, dark magic. It was almost everywhere but surprisingly he was sure that if it wasn't him then no one would have found out.

He could say because this dark magic was much different, it was not just magic but... LAW.

Knowing only this much was enough for me to put into my most alert state, after all this is LAW. The lost magic which only wizards like the founders have mastered.

With a group of skilled Aurors at my side, we cautiously advanced through the debris-strewn corridors, I had two thoughts about making them abandon this mission right now, whatever we gonna face inside. They are no match for it.

Our wands at the ready. Each step brought us closer to the elusive criminal responsible for the robberies that had plagued both Britain and the United States.

Suddenly, a flurry of spells erupted from the darkness, catching us off guard. I raised my wand to deflect the attacks, but the sheer ferocity of the onslaught left me reeling. For the first time in my long life, I found myself struggling to keep pace with the relentless barrage of curses and hexes.

Yup, they are no match for this, I instantly with wandless magic threw them back before any of the coloured spells hit them.

It's been a very long time since I went all out, I guess not until I found Tom a decade ago. Well, he ran away before we fought for good.

As the battle raged on, I caught only fleeting glimpses of our adversary – a blur of movement, a flash of white hair. There was no mistaking the skill and cunning of our opponent, whose mastery of dark magic was matched only by their determination to evade capture.

Despite my best efforts, the fight seemed to stretch on endlessly, each spell exchanged a testament to the fierce determination of both sides.

The strangest thing was that I couldn't even make out any features of the enemy.

All kinds of powerful spells were thrown, but nothing too big considering the size of the place.

"I am not battle crazy but bring it on,"
