Chapter 122 - Chapter 122 : Squib Potion (Bonus Chapter)

Orion, after getting his mind straight and accepting Merlin's suggestion of just not doing anything right now sought out Filch in the quiet corners of the castle. Filch, engrossed in his duties, eyed Orion suspiciously as he approached.

"What do you want," He said with his usual annoying self but Orion didn't care, he would be kissing his feet by the end of this.

"Thou seek arcane which dwells in the chaos," Orion began a smirk on his face and a glint in his eyes.

"What !"

Sigh...

"I'm working on a special potion, one that might change things for Squibs like yourself. Do you want to be the test subject, the first person... not the first squib to regain his magic?"

Hearing this Filch didn't believe it at all, accustomed to scepticism and distrust, scoffed at the idea. "Potions won't change what I am, lad. I've lived too long with the reality of being a Squib to believe in magical remedies."

Orion, undeterred, explained the potential of the Squib Potion, a concoction that could unlock latent magical abilities. With a blend of conviction and sincerity, he managed to chip away at Filch's scepticism.

"It's fine if you don't want to, I will just find some other Squib but I know that the potion works and this is your free chance to get it, later it gonna cost you," Orion acted like he didn't care.

After much thinking and a little trickery on Orion's path, Filch finally although reluctantly agreed. Orion set up an impromptu potion-making station outside Hogwarts, just in case the potion goes nuclear, there is only a 2% chance but still considering just how much power he gonna put into the potion here, it might really go Nuclear. The unusual sight drew curious onlookers as Orion, with Filch as his first willing subject, began the delicate process of brewing the Squib Potion.

Orion's unique wandless potion-making technique, honed through his experiences and training, turned heads.

"What is he doing," someone asked while making more students attracted towards the potion making.

Another reason why he was making the potion outside was to attract attention as this is nothing but free promotion for him.

[Why do you even care about making more money, If I'm not wrong then you are already the second richest person in the country just after the queen. And she is the Queen.] Merlin asked with much drama in his voice.

'I see you are keeping tabs on how much coffers I have in me, Sus if you asked me,' Orion rolled his eyes.

As the potion simmered, Filch felt a strange warmth surging through him, although he still couldn't totally believe Orion but still internally he was praying that this potion works. Orion has made many claims with these potions and if this works then all the squibs in the world will get their position in the wizarding world back.

The crowd held its breath, and even Filch, the perennial sceptic, sensed a change. The potion, a blend of ancient magic and very very complex magical formulae courtesy of Merlin and Orion's expertise held the promise of rewriting destinies for many many lives.

Above everything, to increase the number of wizards in the world. This brings more problems like the already declining magic power and the rise of mage supremacy among some fools who will try to rule the world again with more wizards under their rules.

But Orion didn't care, he decided to turn the world upside down back then so there is no going back.

While the potion was taking its time, soon the crowd attracted the attention of professors as well.

"Now what that child is doing," although other professors were confused, Snape was the first one to recognise that the potion Orion was making was completely new to him.

Only Dumbledore wasn't there, went to America for some reason. "Nothing to do with me," Orion muttered to himself and shrugged.

Snape didn't disturb Orion and even taught a lesson to the other students who were making noise. Why becuase he was honestly impressed at how Orin was masterfully making this potion.

Used many methods unknown to him to the point that he himself was learning many things from him, so he would never have those dunderheads make noise around here.

As time went on, Snape started to get more and more intense in his observation. Orion by now has broken a dozen rules in potion making, rules which if not followed could make the pot and the potion brewer go ka-boom at the same time, but there was Orion still working masterfully defining the law of potion-making and breaking all the rules ever set.

To one point it was frustrating as how blatant the child was about ignoring the common potion-making tactics, and at the same time, it was enlightening just as how his potion was perfectly fine.

'There are some ingredients which I don't even know what they are, what's going on,' Snape started to lose how Orion was doing things after he increased the pace.

To the point that his hands were not enough and completely doing things with wandless magic.

"This degree of control in wandless magic," There was a gasp as Mcgonagall almost gleamed with excitement. She is not as good as Snape when it comes to potions but even she could tell that the child in front of her has already reached the threshold of a potion master. Doesn't matter whether the potion he making works or not, his potion-making technique is enough.

Snape of course for his life will never agree with others on this topic but he too internally was sure, that Orion has an amazing talent for potion-making. Well, he was not wrong as Orion did have a talent for potions but just not as much as he was thinking. Much of what he was watching was Merlin's handy work. Even now Merlin was helping him from the sideline as he was working on 20 different things at the same time with his force.

At one point Snape just couldn't take it any more and thus he ended up going up to Orion to ask how he was doing this, none of it was ever recorded in any potion's books. Could it be that this guy has the ghost of an ancient potion master in him from thousands of years ago?

He wanted to know, and his curiosity grew to the point he wanted to just use Legilemency on him but before he could go up to him, someone stood in front of him. Stopping him while putting his hand on his chest.

"let the kid cook, Professor," Filch said with a serious tone, even Snape was taken aback at this, while others were snickering.

2 hours, it took 2 entire hours to make the potion and while there were few who tried to disturb Orion in his work, he just either ignored them outright or they suddenly started running as they saw something very scary.

"Now finally the final essence," Orion muttered to himself and took out the essence sample he created before this potion-making performance.

The moment the two liquids met, a dazzling golden light emerged from the potion as the clear blue liquid turned into pure golden. It was almost like melted gold but without heat.

"DONE, now where is our residential squib? Come on drink this," Orion shouted.

Snape who was standing next to Filch immediately took out the ward he erected to stop others from disturbing Orion as he with Filch and other professors also got closer.

Tentatively taking the golden liquid in his hand, he slowly drank it, like it was Nector from the gods. By the time he was done, he was waiting for something to happen. Like some kind of reaction but nothing happened.

"What, why are you looking at me like this? Try using magic, go on," Orion said with annoyance. Here he beat his ass for 2 hours straight to make the potion and he after eating the damn thing doesn't even try to use magic.

"Ahmm but I don't have a wand," Filch came out of his stupor and replied with an embarrassing smile.

"Sigh,"

"Here use mine, not like I do anymore," Orion grumbled the last part with irritation. Handing his weak wand to Filch.

As the wand came into Filch's hand, he could feel something. Not sure what but he sure can feel something.

"Professor, you mind teaching a simple spell to him," Seeing that even after having a wand, Filch doesn't know what to do. Orion face palm and asked.

After a little on impromptu teaching from our lovely charms professor, Filch finally was ready.
